What our Clients are saying about us
We were at our wits end with our dogs barking and decided to contact Barkbusters and chose to opt for the 12 months cover. After just one visit from Alex the change in them was immediate and amazing! We were consistent in continuing what Alex had taught us on his first visit and this definitely paid off and on Alex's second visit he was very pleased with how our dogs had progressed (and us!!). One of the chief reasons we feel it was so effective is because Alex actually listened to us about our particular issues with our dogs, not just generic barking issues. We cannot recommend Alex highly enough, we've been telling all my friends and family about Alex and Barkbusters. Our dogs are still lively which is what we want, but they are quiet when we need them to be, which is fabulous!! - Debra & MikeD.K., Bury, Greater Manchester7th December 2016
Our first session was really great. Alex took time to discuss all our concerns before starting any training. Millie made loads of progress in this first session and left us feeling really positive. Alex left us clear instructions about what we need to be doing and gave us lots of confidenceV.F., Whitefield, Greater Manchester19th October 2016
Alex was very warm and had a good sense of humor. He put us all at ease straight away. There was a lot of information to take in but it was worth it, as it made sense as the training session moved forward. It didn't take long for me to work out that it was me that was in need of training more than Drew. I found it quite difficult at first to do some of the commands I was asked to do, but with practice I cannot believe the difference in Drew and myself. I use to get quite stressed on walks with drew now it is a pleasure. would recommend Bark Busters and if you are lucky enough to get Alex you will have fun and learn some pretty clever techniques.S.H., Bury, Lancashire17th August 2015
We were struggling with our 3 month old border terrier puppy and Alex saved the day! He taught us so many techniques which helped us teach our puppy boundaries, how to walk well on the lead and to come back to us when off the lead. Alex has been an invaluable source of advice and support during the first year of having a dog. We would highly recommend him and Barkbusters.J.L., Urmston, Greater Manchester1st February 2015
We were amazed, we had trainers before, they usually gave up on our Dobies or we refused to have them as they suggested methods like ear pinching or hitting them, or ignoring them in general unless we give commands (why would you have a pet and ignore it?). So Alex came and took his time, there was no rush, we had coffee while he observed how the dogs interacted with each other and us, sometimes he told us to give them a command and just watched how they responded and took his time to assess the character of each dog and their trigger points. He spent 4 or 5 hours with us, part of it was inside training, we started a bit on outside training and lead training (our biggest problem) and I was surprised how well the dogs responded. All in all he kept it fun for the dogs and us, so my other half didn't even mind missing the Welsh Rugby game (and he is Welsh), and the dogs loved it as much as we did. We keep joking that the dog body snatcher was around and replaced our dogs with those obedient creatures. Both dogs are rehomed and have issues as they went through several homes, I can't praise Alex enough for getting inside their heads and treating each dog the way it would respond the most, not the usual "one fits all" approach, but tailoring it to the needs of each dog, sussing out the communication between them, and what we thought were major problems and lots of work was really just minimal adjustments we had to make to communicate better with the dogs (and train the dogs versus the dogs training us). All in all, Alex possibly trained us more than the dogs, but that helps the dogs to understand the commands better. And as I said before, it was so much fun that we look forward to the next lesson, because it doesn't seem to be hard work but fun for us and the dogs. After less than a day we don't have to chase them off the furniture, they understand they aren't allowed on it and happily settle in their beds, don't snatch treats but wait until they are told to take them. The life long guarantee seems like a really good deal, as in the past we spent a lot more on trainers who eventually walked out or tried to use methods that seemed simply cruel (causing the animal pain if they refused to cooperate), Alex showed us that it's not just correction but also praise that counts, and yes, they do respond! Doberman's are amazing dogs but quite strong willed and a bit overly sensitive, I think Alex achieved more in one afternoon than most trainers achieved in months. I haven't seen my dogs that happy and content without being exhausted myself, as Alex explained, it's important to stimulate brains and body. I deliberately didn't clear the remains of our dinner but told the dogs no (along with the growl Alex showed us when they tried to sniff it), and we left it there and went to another room. Surprise, the dogs didn't take it (previously unheard of as they are skilled thieves and robbers). I'm so looking forward to the next training session, Alex doesn't believe in breaking a dog's character or spirit (unlike our previous trainers) but working with it, to achieve the desired results. Our dogs are still their quirky selves, just much better behaved than they were. Since this is the result of just ONE session, I'm almost scared that the dogs will have much better manners than we do after a few sessions. And yes, I would recommend him to anybody without reservations!G.S., Macclesfield, Cheshire1st February 2014

We were both very nervous about how both our Shar Pei would react upon Alex's arrival but within minutes we knew that he had the situation under control and this put our minds at ease. We needed Alex's help for our Shar Pei puppy Bentley who was far too keen to greet visitors at the door and was a nightmare on the lead! Primarly, Alex was there to help us with our 1 year old Shar Pei pup but was very aware of the dymnamics between our older Shar Pei girl and Bentley and included Sasha in some of the training which was brilliant. We were hoping to see a small amount of progress at least but we both feel that what we saw today was a huge amount of progress for Bentley. By the end of the 3 hour session, Bentley was already more attentive and responsive to Alex's techniques. We worked on 'border control', aiming to get the dogs to stay in a room when someone knocks at the front door and we made a lot of progress in all areas. Out of the house was a brilliant experience, although it is always a challenge - I feel it did not take long for Alex to get Bentley under control and Bentley responded very well to his techniques to get him walking more calmly. By the end of the session, Bentley was walking by my side on a loose lead - I never believed this could happen, ever! I was absolutely amazed. Alex left us with lots of work to do and it is something that we are committed to do so that we can both feel more confident when people come to visit and when we are walking. We are feeling very positive about the future and looking forward to seeing Alex again on his follow up session.
Another really great session with 2 lovely dogs. I am always confident that we will get results after the first session, but I was pleasantly surprised how well Bentley did both inside and outside the house. I am really looking forward to catching up with them again so we can continue to work with Bentley out on his walks

I have 2 pomerenians and because they are so cute I couldnt resist at all and it felt like they were the one's in control. So i had to find someone who can help me with their behaviour which i honestly thought was impossible
Till Alex showed me the ways to train them and how to let them respect me. Alex was amazing! And its crazy how 3 hours really made a massive difference. Im so happy with how well behaved my puppies are.
Even I am sometimes surprised how well some dogs respond to the training after just 3 hours working with them and their owner. The lesson went really well and by the time we had finished both dogs were no longer jumping or barking, but just chilling together. A big success!!

In the few months since my husband and I got our wonderful cockapoo puppy, Ziggy, our lives have revolved around her completely. She has separation anxiety and, though I work from home, getting work done has been impossible because of the amount of attention she needs. She is a very happy dog - as long as she is not on her own for one second.
Left alone in a room, she would cry and hurl herself around, to the extent we thought she would seriously damage herself. I have stopped leaving the house without her, even to pick up a pint of milk - her distress was too much to bear.
After reading so much contradictory advice on-line and trying it all and getting nowhere (and feeling like a zombie after having no sleep) I got in touch with Alex out of desperation.
Our session was a revelation, and the Life Time support offers peace of mind, knowing we can call upon Alex at any time in the future.
Seeing how Ziggy responded so positively to Alex's instructions (with her tail wagging throughout the session) was unbelievable. I am skeptical about anything with too-dramatic-sounding results, but the change in her responses was obvious. We are no way near being as good as Alex with the techniques yet, but we are still learning, and can now see how it's done.
Most importantly - Ziggy loved Alex and enjoyed the session.
I feel confident that we have the techniques now to get our lives back. Ziggy is as happy and loving as ever when she's with us - still full of personality, but not crying in distress every time I leave the room.
We can't thank you enough, Alex.
Raising a puppy can be challenging, especially for first time puppy owners, but rewarding non the less. I really enjoyed working with Ziggy's parents, and Ziggy responded really well to the training methods we used. I'm really looking forward to catching up with Ziggy and her family in the future.

The training with Alex was very clear and practical. I was given a number of different training tasks to carry out regularly. The session was enjoyable and broken up well into small sections within an overall framework.

Alex spent 3 hours teaching us how to train our dogs Tilly seems to be responding quite well ivy is older and more stubborn but seems to be getting better the lessons were very helpful and Alex was very easy to talk to and very pleasant to deal with hopefully we will be having follow up lessons in the next couple of weeks to see their progress
With multiple dog jobs, its often not the dog that I'm initially called in to see that is the root cause of their problems. As the owners mentioned, their new addition was behaving better at the end of the first session than one of their older dogs.
I'm looking forward to catching up this Thursday to see how they are all doing.

Roxy is an 8 year old cross pommeranian. She is a beautiful dog with a big bark and that was the problem. Everytime people entered or left the house Roxy would bark her head off and it was annoying and embarassing as she would not do as she was told. Roxy also has a bit of food aggression so when she is eating no one can go near as she would growl and snap at you. Alex came to visit us in early January , he spent about 3 hours at our home wiith me and 2 of my daughters. He fascinated us with how quickly he was training Roxy to stop barking and how easy it was for us to implement the techniques for us to do this.
Alex visited a few weeks later to see how we were getting on and to offer any more supoort. He could see a vast improvement
Its a couple of months on now and Roxy is a different dog. We feel we have much more control over her barking. Obviously she barks because thats what dogs do to communicate but Roxy does not bark at everyone like she did when they are coming and going from our home.
We have control over her eating now too as she has learned to wait for us to allow her to go for the food.
I would definately recommend Alex Fraser to assist with any dog training problems that you have. He has helped us to control Roxys barking and eating issues. We are grateful for his professional incite.
Roxy is a lovely pampered Pomeranian who barked a lot when people walked past and especially when people entered the house. By the end of the first session, her family were able to stop her barking repetitively when I entered their home ad they had also built in some control manners around food. By the time I returned 2 to 3 weeks later there was a massive improvement in her behaviour - I am delighted!!

Although i had used Bark Busters for my last dog who sadly died 2 years ago it was 15 years ago and my memory isn't what it used to be.
I have a 15 month Labra doodle Missy Moo her main problem is recall, although she was pulling on the lead, with a bit of refreshing problem solved after 30 min.
However getting Missy to look and listen was a bit harder.
Alex gave me confidence and reassurance and i feel that if i follow the training Alex gave me,i should have thee Perfect Pouch!
Knowing that i can contact Alex at any time and he'll be there.
Great trainer listened and built my confidence.
Many thanks Alex you've made dog walking the pleasure it should be.!
Missy is a really well behaved dog around the home, however she does not always come when called both inside and outside the home. Her attentiveness when walking to heel improved by the time we finished the first session, and I'm confident her recall will continue to improve.
