What our Clients are saying about us
We brought Alex in to help us manage our labstaff's giddy behaviour. Almost immediately she responded to his methods and by the end of the session was walking nicely on the lead like I'd never seen her do before. I'm exceptionally happy that I sought out his help and would recommend him to anyone who has hit a wall in their dog's training.R.B., Prestwich, Greater Manchester17th January 2017
Alex was very thorough with his explanations and demonstrations of the techniques involved, the difference in Rosie was almost immediate. The exercises we were left with were easy and very effective. On Alex's 2nd visit we went to our local field where he showed us his recall techniques, again these have been very effective and having practiced them a few times I have been able to let rosie off her lead in the knowledge that I'm not going to loose her (we have lost her 3 times before contacting barkbusters). Overall Alex is a great bloke who knows his dogs and his techniques, Rosie is now well adjusted and well behaved.G.C., Sale, Cheshire19th September 2016
Alex was very warm and had a good sense of humor. He put us all at ease straight away. There was a lot of information to take in but it was worth it, as it made sense as the training session moved forward. It didn't take long for me to work out that it was me that was in need of training more than Drew. I found it quite difficult at first to do some of the commands I was asked to do, but with practice I cannot believe the difference in Drew and myself. I use to get quite stressed on walks with drew now it is a pleasure. would recommend Bark Busters and if you are lucky enough to get Alex you will have fun and learn some pretty clever techniques.S.H., Bury, Lancashire17th August 2015
From the very first visit there was an immediate change in my dog's behaviour (or should I say mine).... it was like owning a different dog! She responded straight away to the new passive leadership techniques Alex taught me and this resulted quite quickly in her overcoming her considerable anxiety when on walks. No longer is she fearful and stressed. We both enjoy long rambling walks now and it is great to see her running around, eager and enthusiastic. Alex's follow up visits have built on the initial training, reinforcing techniques that had slipped (oops), and putting in place new skills to further develop her obedience training. I am now the owner of a well-behaved and well-adjusted little dog, who is a joy to be around. I would thoroughly recommend Alex and the Bark Busters training techniques.S.G., Rochdale, Lancashire6th August 2015
We have a lovely Cocker Spaniel but he had a few issues such as barking at people when they come to our house, pinching food off our plates, pulling on a lead and other behavioural problems. After the first session there have been massive improvements and its like we have a new dog. Alex is fantastic and I would recommend his service to anyone that has a dog with issues, however small.R.H., Stockport, Greater Manchester9th February 2015

The training with Alex was very clear and practical. I was given a number of different training tasks to carry out regularly. The session was enjoyable and broken up well into small sections within an overall framework.

Alex spent 3 hours teaching us how to train our dogs Tilly seems to be responding quite well ivy is older and more stubborn but seems to be getting better the lessons were very helpful and Alex was very easy to talk to and very pleasant to deal with hopefully we will be having follow up lessons in the next couple of weeks to see their progress
With multiple dog jobs, its often not the dog that I'm initially called in to see that is the root cause of their problems. As the owners mentioned, their new addition was behaving better at the end of the first session than one of their older dogs.
I'm looking forward to catching up this Thursday to see how they are all doing.

Roxy is an 8 year old cross pommeranian. She is a beautiful dog with a big bark and that was the problem. Everytime people entered or left the house Roxy would bark her head off and it was annoying and embarassing as she would not do as she was told. Roxy also has a bit of food aggression so when she is eating no one can go near as she would growl and snap at you. Alex came to visit us in early January , he spent about 3 hours at our home wiith me and 2 of my daughters. He fascinated us with how quickly he was training Roxy to stop barking and how easy it was for us to implement the techniques for us to do this.
Alex visited a few weeks later to see how we were getting on and to offer any more supoort. He could see a vast improvement
Its a couple of months on now and Roxy is a different dog. We feel we have much more control over her barking. Obviously she barks because thats what dogs do to communicate but Roxy does not bark at everyone like she did when they are coming and going from our home.
We have control over her eating now too as she has learned to wait for us to allow her to go for the food.
I would definately recommend Alex Fraser to assist with any dog training problems that you have. He has helped us to control Roxys barking and eating issues. We are grateful for his professional incite.
Roxy is a lovely pampered Pomeranian who barked a lot when people walked past and especially when people entered the house. By the end of the first session, her family were able to stop her barking repetitively when I entered their home ad they had also built in some control manners around food. By the time I returned 2 to 3 weeks later there was a massive improvement in her behaviour - I am delighted!!

Although i had used Bark Busters for my last dog who sadly died 2 years ago it was 15 years ago and my memory isn't what it used to be.
I have a 15 month Labra doodle Missy Moo her main problem is recall, although she was pulling on the lead, with a bit of refreshing problem solved after 30 min.
However getting Missy to look and listen was a bit harder.
Alex gave me confidence and reassurance and i feel that if i follow the training Alex gave me,i should have thee Perfect Pouch!
Knowing that i can contact Alex at any time and he'll be there.
Great trainer listened and built my confidence.
Many thanks Alex you've made dog walking the pleasure it should be.!
Missy is a really well behaved dog around the home, however she does not always come when called both inside and outside the home. Her attentiveness when walking to heel improved by the time we finished the first session, and I'm confident her recall will continue to improve.

I would highly recommend the trainer Alex, Toby used to tug at the lead and pull when he went for a walk, after the first session Alex recommended the harness, which worked really for Toby, after the first session Toby is now well behaved when he goes for a walk, I am very pleased to have found a trainer like Alex because it has helped a lot and Toby is already better behaved.
By the time we finished the first session, Toby was walking well to heel and I have received confirmation that he is still behaving whilst walking on his lead. He also used to get very nervous and bark when any stranger entered his home, but this has also greatly improved. Keep up the good work

We got in touch with Alex for help with our 2 year old Mastiff. Rollo jumps at certain people when they enter the house, has a tendency to pull on the lead when he see's another animal (cat, horse, fox) and barks aggressively at people passing our gate. On his first visit Alex was very informative and explained the reasons why Rollo was doing these behaviours and exactly how we were going to stop them. We have only seen Alex twice and already there is a big difference in Rollo on the lead and we can now walk past horses without him reacting (which we never thought we would be able to do)! We cant thank Alex enough and we look forward to what we can achieve with him and Rollo in the future.
I sometimes get a bit of dog envy when I work with bigger dogs, and Rollo was no exception - he is amazing!! He was a little giddy when we first met, but it's important a dog of his size doesn't jump up st people. He responded really well to the training both in the house and on his lead. He has since been to my house and calmly walked with my two dogs past a number of horses. I felt very proud of him and his Mum and Dad!!

Alex clearly has a strong empathy with the dogs as my dog Bobby responded to him very well straightaway. I was given lots of useful advice on passive leadership from Alex. Alex showed me some useful training lessons for Bobby and I'm attempting them but. I am not very coordinated with them and will need more practice. The guidance on how to walk the dog was very useful and the new lead seems to work well. Most of the time Bobby is well-behaved on his walks but still gets excited and barks. And pulls when some dogs head his way and I will need more help in trying to calm him down in those situations. I look forward to the follow-up sessions with Alex. I suspect I made knee more work than the dog!
I really believe that my training is more about training the owner than the dog. During my training sessions I will always demonstrate what I want the owner to do, but it is far more important that the dog starts to respond more to their owner by the end of the first session than they were before. I also need to ensure that they carry out the training excercises correctly so that they achieve the desired results. I am looking forward to the next session so we can focus more on lead work and walking past other dogs.

I love working with Staffi's and I love their giddy nature, but sometimes they can be a bit too giddy and boy can they just no. Today's session went really well and she responded really quickly to the training methods used. I can't wait to catch up in a few weeks to progress her heel work in a busy dog area!

After Alex's instructions my wife and I both feel that, with his guidance,we will be able to train Jake into the dog we want. From the outset we were able to see a change in Jake, who is a 4 months old Lakeland Terrier. We know it's not going to be easy but we are committed to following Alex's suggestions and feel able to cope. It's good to know we can contact him at any time should we need help.
