My wife and I got in touch with Bark Busters due to the constant barking from Sam when people knocked at our door and when people were leaving.

Alex contacted us and came to our house to meet Sam and to discuss the best approach from Sam's barking. After a couple of sessions working with Alex, Sam has really settled down. His training is still ongoing, but he is a lot quieter now. It is also good to know that we can still call upon Alex if we need his help in the future. Thank you

Trainer note from Alex:
Until I met Sam I didn't realise how high-pitched some dogs can bark - he was truly off the scale. He was such an affectionate dog, but his barking was becoming a real issue. I am really pleased with how he has improved and I am confident that if they continue to do everything I asked them to do he will continue to get better and better. What a smashing little dog!

So sorry for taking to long to leave you some feedback - but you will be pleased to hear that Toby is doing really well. As you know, although we have always had dogs, Toby was my first very own dog and I really wanted to get him off to the best possible start. I would like to thank you for your support over the first few months of me having Toby. He is now a pleasure to walk and always comes back when I call him. Thank you Alex

Trainer note from Alex:
As you can see from his photo, Toby was a beautiful little boxer pup when I first met him, and like all puppies - he was so full of beans. Toby simply needed some rules and guidelines as to what behaviour was acceptable and his owner has done a great job. Toby is now a well balanced and calm boxer and I am confident he will continue to behave himself in the future.

Beau is my first dog and having never owned a dog before I certainly wasn't aware of how much work a young puppy can be, hence the need for Bark Busters.

I like the fact that Alex came to my home to meet us. He has given me the skills to train her and I am really happy with how she behaves. I can even take her in the car now without her barking her head off and trying to get on my knee whilst I am driving. I also know that if I need Alex's advice or help in the future, all I have to do is pick up the phone!

Trainer note from Alex:
Beau is a Beautiful Chocolate Labrador but she certainly has a mind of her own and needed some direction. Following my first visit her owner has certainly put the hours in, which has resulted in a very well behaved dog. Well done!!

Alex was very understanding of the problems I was having with my dog Monty. At first I was very uncertain that the training was going to work and felt like giving up during the first week, but I gave it a chance and in just a couple of weeks there has been a real change in Monty for the better and I am now getting the results I have always wanted! I would recommend Alex to any dog owner with behavioural problem. Thank you

Trainer note from Alex:
I really appreciate the honesty of this testimonial. Some behavioural issues do take time resolve but never be disheartened. With time and effort spent carrying out the tailored training plan I set for Monty and his owner, he is continuing to improve which is excellent. He really is a lovely little dog!!

Alex Fraser dealt with: Destructive chewing that results in destruction of furniture, woodwork etc Separation Anxiety

It's no exaggeration to say you changed my life! I had to leave my lovely Archie in a cage every time I left the house as he had separation anxiety and chewed everything he could get hold off, leaving it in the hall for me. After just a couple of hours with you and some really useful ideas, no destructo-dog action for over 3 months since you came and no guilt for me!!

Trainer note from Alex:
I am so pleased with the results of this job, but credit goes to you for putting into action what we talked about during your first session. Well done you.

Alex Fraser dealt with: Aggression to a dog or other animal or where the dog is aggressive to the owner or a stranger Pulling on the Lead

I didn't intend on getting a dog, however having lived on my own now for some time I thought a dog would provide good company and somebody to go walking with. He is a lovely dog in the home but was a bit of a nightmare when I took him out walking. He pulled like a steam train due to his size and would lunge at certain dogs. Alex showed me what I needed to do which has worked really well. Simple but effective techniques and his Bark Buster collar is excellent. I now have control over my dog when I take him for walks and we walk for miles every day. Although i am now happy with his behaviour on the lead Alex still comes back to go walking with us both which I really appreciate. Thank you Alex

Trainer note from Alex:
I really loved this job, and although they live over an hour away I will definitely be going back to see them both to go out walking, even though his dog now walks really well to heel.

Firstly I would like to apologise for the delay in providing feedback. Alex came to see us both back April. He explained how and why the training work which was really interesting. She is my first dog and I wanted to get things right. Ever since the first session I have had a well behaved little girl who responded really to the training techniques - I am so pleased. I also love the fact that I know I can contact Alex at any time during the 12 months and he will come back and see me but to be honest I don't think it will be necessary.

Trainer note from Alex:
She took on board everything I had to say and has worked well with her dog. I am delighted with the results.

By the time Alex had finished the first session I could already see an improvement in our dog. He is so much calmer!!

Trainer note from Alex:
Initially I wasn't sure where to start once we had finished talking about the behavioural issues and the training techniques, as her dog was so vocal and hyper, however by the end of the first session I could already see a big improvement - her dog was so much calmer. Two weeks later I went back to see how they were all getting on and even I was blown away with how calm he was. This is why I love my job!

Alex came to help me train my young border collie in early June this year. He was able to provide helpful guidance and ideas which were individually tailored to our situation. We have been able to start with the strategies to improve my 'leadership' role. These simple steps within the house were quickly achieved and have had a real impact! Since his first visit Alex has kept in touch and returned for several more visits and we have progressed to new ways of training on the lead. Alex has always been 'hands-on' ; we have carried out training in my garden and out on walks. After each session Alex leaves notes and hand outs - really helpful as there is a lot to learn.

It is really reassuring knowing that Bark Busters provides on-going support because obviously dog training can not be achieved in just one session. Alex is always practical and encouraging, his experience with dogs has been invaluable!

Trainer note from Alex:
I have really enjoyed working with them both and I am impressed with the effort they have both put in, which has resulted in wonderful results. I will continue to support them as there is still some work to be done in regards to walking her border collie down busy roads - but we will get there!!

I enjoyed working with Alex, he is very easy going and I felt comfortable. My Cairn terrier Bobbi was adopted from manchester dogs home in december 2012. Her main problem is aggression towards any new dogs she meets on our walks. She is my fourth dog and I've never experienced this problem before so it came as a shock as she is such a sweetie in many ways. Her behaviour knocked my confidence and though I tried not to be, I found I was getting anxious on walks which didn't help. I had searched the internet for tips and tried different ways of managing Bobbi, but came to realise I couldn't handle her without some one to one help. Alex reminded me to be 'pack leader' and when he told me about using 'Bah' I was self conscious at first but I knew I'd have to get over it. I find it also deters other dogs off the lead, as well as controlling Bobbi. She used to bark wildly and lunge snapping and growling. Now we can mostly pass by unknown dogs without a problem! Bobbi has lots of off lead time and gets along fine with dogs she knows and she was ok with Alex's dog Max the first time they met. She's still a work in progress and as I'm an early riser we go out around 7am when there a only a few other dog walkers up and about and we all know each other now. I feel much more confident and able to manage situations. Bobbi responds to 'Bah' very well even if she happens to be off lead in the park and an unknown dog appears, she will come back to me instead of charging off to attack. We're still practicing front door work and her barking at the many neighbourhood cats! All in all were happy and Bobbi seems much more content now I'm in charge.

Trainer note from Alex:
I am really pleased that Bobbi's owner has her confidence back which will really help both of them when they are out on walk. It was also great involving my dog Max in my work and it was lovely to see them interacting together on a walk. I look forwards to visiting them both in a month or two and will certainly be taking Max with me!
