Alex clearly has a strong empathy with the dogs as my dog Bobby responded to him very well straightaway. I was given lots of useful advice on passive leadership from Alex. Alex showed me some useful training lessons for Bobby and I'm attempting them but. I am not very coordinated with them and will need more practice. The guidance on how to walk the dog was very useful and the new lead seems to work well. Most of the time Bobby is well-behaved on his walks but still gets excited and barks. And pulls when some dogs head his way and I will need more help in trying to calm him down in those situations. I look forward to the follow-up sessions with Alex. I suspect I made knee more work than the dog!
I really believe that my training is more about training the owner than the dog. During my training sessions I will always demonstrate what I want the owner to do, but it is far more important that the dog starts to respond more to their owner by the end of the first session than they were before. I also need to ensure that they carry out the training excercises correctly so that they achieve the desired results. I am looking forward to the next session so we can focus more on lead work and walking past other dogs.

We brought Alex in to help us manage our labstaff's giddy behaviour. Almost immediately she responded to his methods and by the end of the session was walking nicely on the lead like I'd never seen her do before. I'm exceptionally happy that I sought out his help and would recommend him to anyone who has hit a wall in their dog's training.
I love working with Staffi's and I love their giddy nature, but sometimes they can be a bit too giddy and boy can they just no. Today's session went really well and she responded really quickly to the training methods used. I can't wait to catch up in a few weeks to progress her heel work in a busy dog area!

After Alex's instructions my wife and I both feel that, with his guidance,we will be able to train Jake into the dog we want. From the outset we were able to see a change in Jake, who is a 4 months old Lakeland Terrier. We know it's not going to be easy but we are committed to following Alex's suggestions and feel able to cope. It's good to know we can contact him at any time should we need help.

We were at our wits end with our dogs barking and decided to contact Barkbusters and chose to opt for the 12 months cover. After just one visit from Alex the change in them was immediate and amazing! We were consistent in continuing what Alex had taught us on his first visit and this definitely paid off and on Alex's second visit he was very pleased with how our dogs had progressed (and us!!). One of the chief reasons we feel it was so effective is because Alex actually listened to us about our particular issues with our dogs, not just generic barking issues.
We cannot recommend Alex highly enough, we've been telling all my friends and family about Alex and Barkbusters. Our dogs are still lively which is what we want, but they are quiet when we need them to be, which is fabulous!! - Debra & Mike
When I first arrived at their home, the noise from their 2 little dogs was quite impressive - it was hard to hear each other when we spoke. Before long though, the barking had stopped and both dogs started to listen to their parents. I've since been back and the difference in the dogs was amazing - no barking!! I have arranged to catch up in the New Year, and I am confident that there will be 2 calm doggies when I arrive!

I had been really looking forward to the training session and am happy to say I was not disappointed. There was a lot of information to remember but Alex explained everything and with the work we did with Wallace I could tell how much difference it could make.
I have been amazed how quickly Wallace has picked up the new rules.. although rather like a small child he does like to push the boundaries sometimes. On the whole he now waits until I tell him he can join me on the sofa or bed, he waits at the foot or top of the stairs until I tell him to come which is particularly important as I have mobility issues. He has almost learnt to stay out of the kitchen and his walking on the lead is improving.
I am looking forward to our next lesson with Alex and in time to being able to let Wallace off lead in the park.
Wallace and his Mum worked really hard during their first training session, which went really well. Wallace really started to listen more to his Mum. Looking forward to session two, where we can focus more on Wallace's lead work and start on recall.

We had our first session today with Alex with our 3 year old Boxer dog Daisy. She had problems with excessive barking at any noise/people passing house/door knocking. She also had problems pulling on the lead and taking charge of the walk. Alex talked through all the issues and quickly shown us how to address these with Daisy. And I can honestly say after 3 hours of him being here we have seen a massive difference in Daisy with the techniques that Alex shown to us. We will keep these firmly in place and see Alex again in 2-3 weeks time. We wish we would have taken the plunge and done it sooner!!! Would really recommend to anybody who is having behavourial problems with their dog(s)!!!
I really enjoyed today's training session with Daisy and her family. By the time I made it home, Daisy's Mum had already provided some lovely feedback which is great.
Daisy was finding the job of protecting her home and family very stressful and she was a real barker when people walked past their home, and especially when strangers had the cheek to knock on her front door.
By the end of the first session, Daisy started to realise that she didn't have to worry quite so much as her family would keep her safe. The difference in her behaviour was massive which was so nice to see.
I can't wait to catch up with her and her family before Christmas.

I was anxious before our first session as I didn't know what to expect. Our trainer Alex explained everything in simple terms and together we put the training plan in action on the first session. I was amazed at how quickly Sid responded to Alex and now feel extremely confident. Alex was very calm, professional and friendly. So glad I contacted Bark Busters!
I enjoyed working with Sid and his family. Sid responded quickly to the training methods really started to listen to his Mum and Dad. I always enjoy the first training session as I love to see the difference in the dogs behaviour, but I also really look forward to going back to see them again, to ensure that they are still behaving themselves and to help with other issues that we don't always get chance to address on the first training session.

The techniques Alex has shown me have drastically impacted on Bella's jealous and attention seeking behaviour. She has quickly responded to the 'Bah' correction method and the amount of barking to get attention has reduced significantly. Milo has been extremely responsive to sit and wait before taking a treat or his breakfast/dinner and we're working on the lead walking and he's taking to heel slowly but surely. The result of these changes between me/my partner and my boxer dogs is really positive. They still have their adorable and slightly bonkers personalities but there just feels to be a little more of a respectful balance. There is still some way to go, but with more work with Milo around other dogs and on lead behaviour I'm really confident we'll get there. Thank you very much.
Bella was one of the chattiest dogs for attention I had ever met, but I was delighted to see a different dog when I visited them all for their session. She was so much calmer when I met her for the second time I thought she was a different dog! Time now to focus on Milo who gets very excited when he sees another dog whilst out working. His walking to heel is going and he is far more focused on his Mum so I am confident we will get there. Looking forward to our next session.

Our rescue greyhound had separation anxiety and had shredded the stair carpet, run through the TV, eaten 5 dog beds and a cage. She was so anxious that the day we rang bark busters I was in tears.
Within hours of Alex's first visit, Mabel was much more settled. He worked with us to train us. Everything he said made perfect sense and he gave us practical exercises to do that would help Mabel to know her place in the home and in turn increase her confidence.
3 weeks after his first visit she was out of her cage and we were able to leave her whilst we went to work with the free roam of three rooms. Her destructive behaviour has ceased and she is happy and settled.
The money we paid Bark Busters has been worth every penny; we would have paid out far more in repairing damage to our home. Worse still, we may have given up on Mabel.
We look forward to our continued support from Alex throughout the year and have every confidence that he will help us with recall and socialising her with other dogs.
Alex is calm, reassuring and gifted. A true dog whisperer! Thanks Alex.

Separation Anxiety issues can often take a while to resolve, so I was delighted to hear that she is no longer anxious when she is left home alone. I've been back to see them again recently and she was like different dog. I'm not sure who was more chuffed - me or her owners.
