We met Tina for the first time on Friday. She was kind, caring and very professional. We found it easy to listen to her and the methods she taught us. We now feel like we understand our boy more and that we can communicate with him a lot better than before. He is walking much better on the lead, is waiting for us before going through doors, not trying to beat us to the top of the stairs and is much more confident during walks (to name a few things). We would definitely recommend Tina.
We will continue with our homework and will look forward to our next session for recalls. Thank you Tina.
A surprisingly calm Border Collie teenager, but had managed to take control of his owners in a subtle way so that he made decisions not them! He was a star pupil and so happy to have the pressure of controlling them taken off him. His owners had already done a lot of work, to help his need to try to control cars by herding them (a common trait I see in collies!) He'll be a great family dog and great at any activity when focused.

Bark busters training is completely different to what we expected but we've been amazed just how well its working with Marley.
Marley is a young Cockerpoo who was rather hyperactive, jumping up, digging in the garden and was eating anything he could get hold of! I advised on changing his diet (like children, the wrong food can create bad behaviour!) and worked on getting him to focus more on his owners. We started to teach him how to walk on loose lead, I showed his owners how to "speak dog" which makes it so much easier for him to understand.

Tina came highly recommended by a work colleague of a friend of mine and she didn't disappoint. She is obviously very experienced and we have seen a change in Maggie already, as quickly as that afternoon. Maggie seems a lot calmer and more relaxed when I am out walking her and I am more relaxed too, which obviously helps Maggie as I know she could feel the tension in the lead every time we came across a hazard. I feel more confident now that I have been shown how to deal with it. Maggie's problem is aggression towards people, vehicles and other dogs but my partner and I feel confident that we will crack it this time with Tina's help. It is early days and we realise that Maggie's aggression won't go away over night but with the training methods that Tina has shown us so far, we are sure that Maggie will eventually be the dog we know she can be. We are looking forward to Tina's next visit.
Maggie is a rescue from Eastern Europe and having first hand experience of these dogs, I have one (!) and have worked with a number now, they can be very anxious, suspicious and worried about new people or situations. We therefore worked on Maggie's worries by showing her that the humans she lived with were more than capable of dealing with and making decisions about the various areas of Maggie's reactiveness. She is a sweet girl and with the obvious commitment of her owners, she will feel much happier and relaxed.

Tina was very easy to talk to and made me feel at ease straight away, within a short while of her being with Maddie I could see that she had worked out the problem with her and made me feel confident that we can easily sort out her problems. Tina showed me some training methods and made them easy to follow and was very calm and patient with both myself and Maddie until we got it correct. Since her visit both my dogs have been calmer and the barking has stopped by 80% and is getting better each day I would highly recommend Tina it's nice to know I have her support for a year .
Maddie is a great little dog and with her boy pal to protect her she would often set him up to do all the work! Clever little girl! She is a little anxious but also she was demanding attention by barking, so we worked with both dogs indoors so that they understood that the humans made the decisions. Outside we worked with my large toy Labrador and it was obvious that she was quite worried about dogs, so that will be something we will do more work on once the basics are in place.

We got our dog Harry, from a rescue centre 18 months ago. I recently had a baby and unfortunately when we brought our little girl home from the hospital Harry found it very difficult to deal with. He was barking and crying constantly (he literally did not stop for hours), jumping up at the baby, and just generally working himself into such a state that my husband took him to the vets because we were so worried about his wellbeing. They gave him a tablet form of Adaptil and a collar. Neither worked and a few days later, becoming increasingly desperate as my husband was due to return to work and I'd had a caesarean and was unable to care for the baby and control Harry at the same time, I got in touch with the rescue centre to see if they had any advice. They recommended Tina at Bark Busters and I called her in tears - the thought of rehoming Harry was breaking our hearts, but at that present moment I was living upstairs with the baby in our bedroom because things really were that bad. We had tried all of the recommended actions ahead of having the baby - Harry was familiar with the pram, her moses basket, my husband had brought her first babygro home from hospital for him to smell etc., he was still having all of his walks, but nothing could have prepared us for just how badly he reacted. We were unable to have any visitors for the first week because it was just too stressful trying to deal with Harry's reaction to being near the baby, and relatives looking at us as if we were mad to have such a dog.
Tina was so understanding and reassuring, I was filled with confidence from the very start that she would be able to help us and she kindly agreed to come and see us that very weekend. Tina asked us lots of questions about Harry and what we wanted to get out of the training which was really helpful. It wasn't a one size fits all solution, the exercises that she showed us were very specific to our problem and tailored to Harry. Harry responded so well, a few hours after Tina had left we managed to sit down and eat together as a family for the very first time, something that I never would have imagined would happen any time soon - baby in her basket next to me and Harry laying peacefully on the floor underneath my husband's chair (his usual spot at dinner time).
The relief we both felt was overwhelming - Harry was very much our first baby and anybody that loves their dogs will understand the emotional turmoil at the thought of giving up a member of your family. But with a very tiny newborn baby, had it not been for Tina's help, we would have had no other choice given the circumstances.
I can't recommend Tina and Bark Busters enough. Tina really did work wonders, by educating us as owners (or alphas as we now are) purely through showing us effective communication skills and teaching us how Harry saw things. She really did change the start of our journey as parents, if we'd had to give Harry up I do not doubt for a second that it would have really marred what should have been a wonderful time.
Tina has since been in touch to follow up and we will be seeing her again once as I am healed enough to help Harry with walking with the pram and the baby. I would absolutely say that the training is worth every single penny and I would use Tina again and again. It has meant the world to us that we were able to keep Harry. He now just behaves as he did before the baby arrived, except that when he returns from a walk he comes in to see where she is and then goes about his business as usual. As I type this he is curled up at the foot of the sofa underneath where the baby is napping in her bouncer, I couldn't be more chuffed.
I was so pleased to have helped this couple with their 1 week old baby. I was at the time unable to drive as a result of a shoulder injury, but they were so concerned her husband came to pick me up and take me home, for which I was very grateful. A lovely couple, and Harry their cross breed dog was a joy to work with. He responded immediately to the new "speak dog" communication, understanding what was and wasn't acceptable behaviour. So pleased that everything worked out well and looking forward to meeting the family again when they are ready.

Tina was fantastic she could see the problems straight away, the techniques I was shown I have stuck too and can see a change in my dogs already . Looking forward to two different dogs in the future.
So a big thank you to Tina
This was a session involving a large dog who was beginning to show defensive aggression to some people and was a definite "puller"! Two dogs in the family with different issues, so we did some ground work with both and then separately.

Tina was exceptional; calm and demonstrated an understanding of our concerns and how we can move forward and why Jeff was behavouring the way he was.
After just a short time he is a pleasure to walk on his lead and it is lovely to feel in control. French bulldogs are stubborn we have picked him up before and carried him home after he refused to walk, he constantly pulled on his lead now he walks calmly by my side.
Tina is wonderful,it's like she waved a magic wand,we have carried on with the techniques and we initially thought he will not respond once she leaves, he now sits and waits, walks nicely and is respectful.
A little dog who had accidentally been given the "top job" in the household! Knowing the breed, I was surprised at how quickly he responded being much happier and relaxed by the end of our session. I am particularly pleased to hear that the walking exercises have paid off and that he is now walking nicely, as that was quite a struggle towards the end of a tiring couple of hours using his brain working out how to please his owners and hear their praise.

Tina was extremely professional and helpful, offering all sorts of advice from diet through to attempting to solve Cookie's behavioural difficulties. My husband and I were both impressed with Tina's knowledge and approach and Cookie took to her immediately. We are working through the exercises Tina suggested as the groundwork towards Cookie's aggression with other dogs. Although we have rated our experience, we are at the very beginning of the process and are working towards our target.
I'm looking forward to hearing from Cookie's owners with a full update on her improvements. She was very responsive and loved every minute of our work showing her owners how to gain her respect and happy responses to the new "wanted" behaviour!

We are only 3.5 weeks into training but we have good results. It is not always easy to fit as much training into our life with work and 2 other dogs, but I do as much as I can. I realise that the best way is to try to work the training sessions into all your moves during the day. Treating all dogs the same, the older dogs have found hard, as happy in their old ways. Best to try to stick to a routine, be consistent. More than happy with the service so far.
2nd visit today and what great progress, despite a very busy lifestyle, dogs, horses, humans and work, the training has shown a huge improvement to a very clever, but very lively young boy. We worked on recall, distance control and attentiveness today and I'm looking forward to hearing an update in a couple of weeks so we can decide what next steps to take.
