What our clients say about Bark Busters

26th September 2008

Jen made us understand Blue was not a leader hence the anti-social behaviour he was showing. Jen told us he was a stressed out little dog and we must take the leadership role. 2 days on, peace has arrived to the household. We know there is a long way to go and it's a long term commitment but thank you Jen and Bark Busters for showing us the right path. (Jen did a good job at training us humans!!)

Izzi is a lovely 2 year old female German Shepherd who was rescued as a stray roaming the Yorkshire Moores. She had a propensity to charge at intimidating speed towards other dogs and also to nip at strangers driven by a sense of fear. Her dedicated new owners have been working hard under the guidance of Bark Busters Behavioural Therapist -Phillip Gazzard to rehabilitate Izzi's aggression and to teach her leadwork skills and recall. Izzi is still a work in progress, who has shown great improvements to date.

We have been really impressed with Phillip's training methods. Brewster has responded very well and is a different dog. Phillip has been patient & extremely helpful. We would certainly recommend Bark Busters, and indeed have! Thank you so much.

Brewster is a Border Collie cross who was rescued by his new family with some particularly severe inherant issues. Prior to commencing his Bark Busters training, Brewster was a compulsive barker, had a tendency to nip and jump up at people and had misinterpreted his role as leader of his pack which he demonstrated on a daily basis by dragging his understandably frustrated owners around by his lead when venturing out on walks. To add insult to injury, Brewster was also a master opportunist with a tendency to escape and reluctance to come back when called. Brewster has certainly presented a bundle of challenges, but thanks to the dedication of his owners and the help and support of Phillip Gazzard's behavioural therapy and training, Brewster has been reformed to a much more acceptable level of behaviour. Whilst there is still some room for improvement, he continues to progress at each visit, and he is now a much loved member of his family.

We were absolutely amazed at the difference in behaviour of our little puppy, Sansa, within just an hour of her first session with Kim. Kim quickly realised what made our dog pull on the lead and what was leading to her separation anxiety, and taught us how to deal with it. In a short time, we've learned how to keep our dog under control, and Kim has been consistently helpful with other problems since.

Sansa is a lovely ex rescue dog whose owners had made good progress with prior to our first session. By showing her "pack leaders" how to manage the outstanding problems we made great progress in the initial session, and this progress has continued. A change in Sansa's diet has also helped to calm her down.

Richard is an excellent communicator and trainer. He clearly has excellent dog training skills but his people training skills are equally good.

Diane was lovely. We noticed a difference with Woody after the first couple of hours. The barking has been reduced, he is much better on the lead & with other dogs. Thank you so much!
