Dog Obedience Trainer & Behavioural Therapist

  • Aggression to a dog or other animal or where the dog is aggressive to the owner or a stranger
  • Barking at people, dogs, animals, birds or where the dog barks for attention or at the slightest noise
  • Pulling on the Lead
  • Separation Anxiety

Even after the first session we were able to leave the room with no fuss and take the dog outside the front door without world war III breaking out. Now, as he is more active, he's zonked out! (Bliss - I can now go to the bathroom by myself for the first time in one and a half years!) It is very early days but we now have high hopes for him. He is a very lovely dog and training can only make us a happier family.

  • Hyperactivity
  • Recall or not coming when called

My dog was very hyperactive but within a very short time she appeared calmer. After only two weeks of training she is a much calmer dog.

CS, Ryton Tyne & Wear

This owner followed the programme daily and her dog responded very well. After four weeks this dog had stopped jumping and barking on the window sill, was walking much better and was very calm in the house and when visitors arrived. Full marks to all the hard work put in by this client.

  • Hyperactivity
  • Jumping up at visitors or the dog jumps up at people on walks
  • Pulling on the Lead
  • Recall or not coming when called

In the first session Fran gave me techniques - both voice and body language to calm and train my juvinile Great Dane. The techniques were effective from the start! I now feel fully supported for the on going training of my dog.

  • Destructive chewing that results in destruction of furniture, woodwork etc
  • Hyperactivity
  • Jumping up at visitors or the dog jumps up at people on walks
  • Pulling on the Lead
  • Sibling Rivalry - aggression or fighting between dogs in the same household

My dog was gettin out of hand. The trainer came to my home and taught me how to train my German shepherd who responded very very well. I'm continuing with the methods taught in order to take her for a pleasurable walk rather than a continuous fight of pulling on lead and not taking a bit of notice of me. If I don't sort her out the trainer will call again to show me where I am going wrong. Brilliant! Thank you Bark Busters.

NR, Evenwood Durham

This client was very keen to have a dog who listens when told. He followed all the methods which were demonstrated and got a good result on the day as his dog responded to him. On the walk he was surprised when his dog did not start barking and jumping around when she saw another dog in its garden. As long as he is consistent with the training he should see a lasting result!

We have just started the training so too early to say if it's working. Both dogs are already -after 2 days- showing signs of being calmer.

I would like to say something about Fran, our therapist's approach. So often trainers can make you feel guilty about your dog's behaviour. We expected her to be telling us about everything we were doing wrong - a list if you like of "don't evers". Don't ever let your dog on the furniture or don't ever pat and fuss them. What was so refreshing and helpful was that she showed she actually liked our dogs and gave us real confidence in our own ability to teach and correct them. When she left the house after the first session we really felt "we can do this"...Not "Oh lord - this is going to be torture because we're so useless". This we feel is such an important aspect of Fran's training technique. We are glad we heard about Bark Busters!

  • Pulling on the Lead

We both found the help, advice and support from Fran, our therapist very helpful. Our dog responded immediately to the techniques we were shown, which we hope is a good indication that we can get past our problems.

I was extremely impressed with manner, knowledge and technique explained by Fran. There was immediate response from Alfie and his behaviour seemed to change. This has continued in the last two weeks and we have seen a remarkable change in Alfie's behaviour in the house and on walks.

We still have a way to go but progress so far gives me confidence to continue doing the same techniques which have worked. Bah is the most used word in our house!

We had several issues with our dog (pulling on his lead, barking ferociously at postman/when anyone knocked on the door or passed the house, and barking and whining when anyone left the house). The training we received (and we now know it was our fault that he reacted the way he did) was excellent. Within hours his reaction was much improved when anyone left the house and within a couple of days he did not pull as much on his lead and responded to our command to walk by our side. This has improved on a daily basis.

We still had issues of our dog barking when post was delivered or anyone knocked on the door but with the help of our therapist (who came back out to the house immediately I rang) things are much improved. We are continuing with the training and feel confident this issue will ultimately be totally resolved.

Overall I cannot fault the service and training provided.

These clients quickly understood what they had to do and put it into practise diligently. Their dog responded immediately and became calmer once he realised that his people were going to be consistent in their behaviour.
