What our clients say about Phillip Gazzard
Dog Obedience Trainer & Behavioural Therapist
12th July 2008
I was absolutely amazed at the results we got in such a short space of time. I had believed the problem may have been unresolveable and that Luke (our Staffie) may have had to leave the family home, but the session was like a miracle and fantastic for us all.

Luke is a 7 month old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and a wonderful example of a loyal family dog, dedicated to his own pack. Prior to the training session, Luke had unwittingly been promoted to leader of the pack, and in a state of confusion was reprimanding the human beings in the pack in an aggressive way. After re-aligning pack order, Luke is now focused, attentive, walking perfectly to heel and now dedicated to his master and lovingly devoted to the well-being of his whole family.

A great improvement in Red's responses. Information about diet -helpful. Positive encouragement given to us.

Red is a 3.5 year old male Golden Cocker Spaniel with a lovely nature, who had developed an unfortunate aggressive phobia to travelling in the car as a result of his association of a painful grass seed infection several years earlier and a trip to the vet. Subsequently Red continued to associate his fear of this pain every time his owners attempted to take him on a car journey which often resulted in aggressive behaviour.
Our first training session has incorporated re-associating Red's association of events to replace this fear with a positive experience and in doing so have made considerable progress, although further visits and work is still required in order to resolve the fear aggression entirely.
Red also presented other behavioural issues such as barking at the front door, jumping up and pulling on the lead, for which we have now achieved considerable improvements and resolution.

Phillip exceeded our expectations -Literally within minutes he had our two dogs behaving. Issues that have concerned us for months have been resolved almost instantly. We can't quite believe it. We now have a better understanding of our animals and are confident that we will all be happier now.

Barney is a delightful 3 year old Miniature Schnauzer and Oskar is a lovely 19 month old West Highland Terrier. Both dogs had mistakenly assumed leadership of their pack which had manifested in problems of barking and pulling on the lead. After re-aligning pack leadership to Barney and Oskar's devoted owners and putting in place effective leadership techniques and boundaries, Barney and Oskar have been transformed into the dream dogs that their owners always wanted.

Billy (Male) and Mia (Female) are both 18 month old Cocker Spaniels, who were constantly barking and had a propensity to jump up and pull on the lead. With the guidance of Bark Busters, their owners have now achieved total harmony within their pack and learned how to completely control the barking and teach Billy and Mia to walk beautifully to heel.

Coco is a 6 month old female Working Cocker Spaniel with a wonderful confident personality. Her willfullness had initially presented challenges to her owners, but after putting in place the correct Bark Busters leadership techniques and guiding Coco's owners on the appropriate way to achieve Coco's respect for their leadership, a complete transformation has been made and Coco is now responding to her owners with a new found calm demeanour and is a pleasure to walk on the lead.

This is a totally different approach which appears to be having a positive effect. It is all very logical.

Lily, is a lovely Wire-Haired Dachshund who's owners (prior to Bark Busters) had more or less resigned themselves to the fact that they may have to just live with the constant barking and attention seeking. Within the short space of a few hours of the first consultation visit, Lily was already responding and showing a very noticeable improvement, as she learned to respect the leadership of her owner listening to the new commands and techniques used to stop her barking and jumping up. Well done, Lily

I would just like to say at first I was unsure about the need for a dog trainer, because I had already trained my previous dog Tyson who died this year aged 14.5 yrs. I did not think I needed any help with my 6mth old Alaskan Malamute, but to my surprise Spartacus is responding really well to the training.

My clients were initially a little reluctant to seek training assistance, because they had some previous experience at training their own dogs, but Spartacus seemed a little different than other dogs, so they called in the experts to make sure that he received the best training. Spartacus is a very confident boy, and is responding beautifully to his Bark Busters training.

Sammy and Max are two Staffordshire Bull Terriers. After realigning pack leadership and making some positive nutritional adjustments, Sammy and Max's loving owners became true leaders of their pack, achieving a complete transformation from dogs who were previously pulling on the lead, to dogs who now walk perfectly to heel.

Phillip Gazzard has been helping us home train our German pointer, Milo, since he was a 10-week-old puppy. Milo is now a happy, boisterous but well-behaved 10 month old, who recalls on command, walks beautifully to heel on and - amazingly - off the lead, sits, stays and never chews the furniture. No matter the problem, however big or small, Phillip has always made himself available with a ready smile and the solution. I have no doubt that Milo is as grateful to Phillip as we are for helping us to understand his canine ways and communicate with him effectively. The true measure, though, is in the number of people who come up to us to express their embarrassment at their own dogs' lack of discipline, or the mothers who walk by while commenting to their children: "Look how well trained that dog is - he behaves better than you lot do!". The only real regret we have about having such an obedient dog is that we no longer get to see Phillip. It's enough to make an owner invent a behavioural problem just so we can have him around for another visit.

Milo is a wonderfully spirited German Short Haired Pointer. He has a confident nature which would present more than your average set of expected behavioural challenges to be faced by the proud owner of a new puppy. Thanks to the dedication of his owners, Milo has turned out to be a truly wonderful example of a well trained adolescent gun dog. He is a true testiment of what can be achieved by bringing together a dedicated owner with the help and assistance of Bark Busters.
