Alex was so helpful, explained everything clearly and I can already see a difference in both dogs 1 week later. So pleased we went ahead and decided to get them trained!

Alex was honestly great. We discussed Timmy's issues and we started a plan to improve things. He use to bark at everyone man and dog if nearby. Alex has helped this so much that we went to the Peaks and took Timmy and he saw loads of people and dogs and not a peep. We wouldn't entertain idea and letting him near another dog in fear he would bite them but he able to get right next to them face to face .
This session went really really well. When I meet nervous dogs that don’t want me to come in their home, I need to make sure I go at the dogs pace. We did far more with Timmy than I initially expected as he was very stressed when I arrived. I was delighted to hear they had taken him out for the day and he behaved himself.

We contacted Alex very soon after bringing our second puppy, Betty, home having had Wilf for 5 weeks. We were struggling with how they interacted, play that looked nothing like play to us and appeared rough and aggressive. Alex was friendly and easy to talk to, and we felt he understood our concerns from the start of our conversation. He demonstrated techniques to correct unwanted behaviour and gave us lots of information to help us understand the interaction between ourselves and our puppies and how we have been responding to them rather than them responding to us. He also spoke about the importance of enough sleep and about different food options. We have now had the opportunity to put in place the suggestions discussed and although it’s not the miracle we hoped for, we are seeing a definite change in the right direction. Before Alex’s visit we had seriously considered finding a new home for one of our puppies which we would have found heartbreaking, so I cannot express too strongly the difference he has made to life with our two puppies although it’s obviously still a work in progress
Really enjoyed this session and I had a little bit if dog envy - I could have happily taken Betty and Wilf home - but four dogs would be a bit much. With puppies it’s so important to get the foundation right. The correct amount of good quality food (puppies need a bigger percentage con relationship to their body weight compared to that of an adult), lots and lots of sleep, some simple ground rules, and attempting to be a bit more aloof (which is the difficult bit). There is no real quick fix with training a puppy, but with patience and the right techniques, owners will get their in the end. Both dogs did really well. Keep up the good work.

Alex came to help us with our GSD pup. Alex explained to us that our pup had been training us for the last 10 months. With all the information and techniques that he demonstrated and explained we have already noticed a change after such a short time. Will continue to use these techniques and look forward to working with Alex again.
Really enjoyed meeting their very large puppy / teenage GSD. Due to it being a really hot day when we did the first session we were unable to do much outside work, however as they chose an option with further support, we will focus on lead work next time we meet. He did really well on his first training session, and I’m so pleased to hear they are already seeing an improvement. Looking forward to catching up in a few weeks.

Thanks to Alex we have gone from thinking we have the border collie puppy version of the anti-Christ to a puppy that can be trained ! There is work to do, no one should mistakenly think that a puppy can be trained immediately like they magically appear to do on TV dog trainer programmes, but with work and the help of a great trainer like Alex it can be done. On a personal level Alex was very knowledgeable, easy to work with and had a great sense of humour, I would highly recommend his services to anyone. Thanks
The first 12 months with any puppy can be a challenge, even if people have owned dogs before! We are never going to fully train a puppy in 3 hours, 3 weeks or 3 months, but I can provide owners with the tools and skills to train their puppies to be well behaved adults when they grow up. Training never ends, but it is not complex and fits in with day to day life, and as long as owners are consistent, they will get the results that they are after!

Alex was a brilliant trainer and within a few hours we saw a huge improvement in Buddy’s behaviour. He wasn’t a naughty dog but We as owners just needed the correct guidance And Alex was knowledgable, Professional and Friendly trainer who told us what to do and how to do it to correct the slight issues we had with Buddy. Within the first hour we could see improvements and by the time the session was done and his evening walk came around he was a completely different dog. Would highly recommend Alex’s services to anyone looking for help with their dog!
Great session today with Buddy and his Mum and Dad. Buddy was a little nervous when I first arrived, but by the time we finished the session, he fell asleep with his head on my knee which made leaving very difficult. The lead work went really well and I was delighted to hear he walked well on his second walk of the day. Can’t wait to catch up with them all in a few weeks.

We throughly enjoyed our training with Alex last week. Tommy loved him and it was immediately clear that he knew what he was doing. Previoisly I was concerned about feeling silly and judged but Alex made us feel at ease and empowered to train Tommy. We saw some incredible immediate results and have clear instructions on continuing to build on these. I would definitely recommend Alex to anyone searching for a trainer. Thanks Alex! Laura Fenn
I couldn’t have said it much better myself. I’m simply looking to restructure the pecking order, by training and empowering the owners so that their dogs trust, respect and listen to them more, and in turn worry less about things outside of their control. Really enjoyed this session and I’m looking forward to catching up with them in the future.

The training was amazing! Alex made me feel really comfortable and not daft for how I was feeling or how Nigel was reacting. Alex taught me many ways, easily and thoroughly, that I can train Nigel with to be a better behaved dog so we can both live a happy stress free life. Nigel learnt quite quickly during the session but we still have a way to go but with the tools I was given I’m sure we will be fine, Thankyou again to Alex for giving me the confidence and knowledge I needed :)
Often when we take on a rescue dog we over compensate with love and affection so that they realise they have found their forever home. However in doing so we sometimes make them a little more stressed. By building in some simple ground rules and giving them attention on your terms, not theirs, we should have a much happier dog and owner. Keep up the good work!

From the first contact Alex made us feel easy. His mannerism and overall development of the lesson made perfect sense from the onset. We felt so at ease as did Poppy. The explanations and instructions were clear and concise and built logically with explanation at each stage. Since the lesson (2 days) we have noticed a difference with out 9 month old Weimaraner, she is much more relaxed and seems to have an overall calmer demeanour. She is adapting well to the instructions and training followups we have been given. Can't wait for the next session (oh and we will have smaller cups for the brew??). Gail & Tony & Poppy
Even if we have had dogs before, a puppy can be quite hard work. Some one on one training can certainly get owners back in the right direction, and follow up support can be useful to make sure we address any other issues that might crop up. I’m looking forward to catching up with them all in a few weeks.

We are first time dog owners and got a cockerpoo puppy during lockdown. I was concerned that we should be using the time to train our puppy but no one seemed to be available. I contacted Alex and he fitted us in as soon as possible. He was very reassuring and had a wealth of knowledge both personal and professional. He talked with us and demonstrated a number of techniques. He also talked through more general issues such as diet and leads. After the lesson we received a number of documents covering different areas that were very useful. It can be difficult to absorb all the information in the session so having the follow up documents was very useful. We are all trying to follow the advice given.
