We were struggling with our 3 month old border terrier puppy and Alex saved the day! He taught us so many techniques which helped us teach our puppy boundaries, how to walk well on the lead and to come back to us when off the lead. Alex has been an invaluable source of advice and support during the first year of having a dog. We would highly recommend him and Barkbusters.
Another puppy success, but like a number of puppies I have worked with - some things take longer to learn than others. This young dog very quickly learnt what behaviour was acceptable around her home and her walking to heal followed shortly. Her recall skills took a little longer, however her owners persevered and all their hard work certainly paid off. I'm very proud of all of them and delighted with the results.

We can't thank you enough. Alex's help has changed our lives and we are truly grateful. We were at our wits' end and on the point of despair with our little rescue Coco, particularly our inability to control her behaviour when out on her lead. We still have work to do with her/ us but we are all happier, safer and more relaxed. She is so much better, happier and eager to learn and to please - only limited by our lack of imagination! We recommend Bark Busters to anyone and everyone who will listen and are looking forward to our next session / catch up session with Alex before too long. Thank you!
Great progress has been made with Coco. I think I am almost as delighted as her owners. They made a great point in that their work with her is ongoing. Ensuring your pet has the right amount of exercise is crucial, but it is also really important that we stimulate them mentally and work their brains. This not only increases the bond and really helps them listen to their owner, but it also stops them from feeling bored and getting into mischief! Keep up the good work.

Very useful and unrushed assessment session. Simple explanation and demonstration of behavioural correction techniques. Feeling positive and enthusiastic about future training sessions.
Charlie is a lovely Westie that has been re-homed at age 6. We don't know a massive amount about his back ground, but for whatever reason he has taken on the role of protecting his home by barking at anything and everything he hears or sees whilst in his home. Following the second session he is much calmer and his barking has considerably reduced. We are now working on his attentiveness whilst out walking so that his owner feels confident to let him off the lead. I am looking forward to seeing how this is going when I visit them both next week.

Livvy seems to be responding quite well. Slow but steady progress. Still a little way to go but very hopeful after meeting with Alex.
Following my second session with Livvy, I was really pleased to see how much calmer she was around the home and her walking to heal has improved. If her owner continues to implement the techniques we discussed I am confident Livvy's behavior will continue to improve.

After one session my dog was responding to what we had been taught by Alex. His aggression is only towards some other dogs, however he is muzzled at this stage, which we have not dealt with as yet. However the fact of his pulling when we were out walking was dealt with in the first session and he is definitely responding. Also he had been running up the stairs and going into rooms before me which was not ideal but now I can get him to wait most of the time which is a vast improvement after just one session, I do practice every day although not always everything I was shown every day. He is not happy in the car and Alex did suggest just taking him in the car for a short while to get him used to it but so far we've not tried this yet but we will be doing this. I do feel I have peace of mind as I have taken life time cover for Sam and I know he will be really well trained and a pleasure to take anywhere.
As Sam's owner says, we made fantastic progress after just one session. Sam's walking on the lead and behaviour in the house really improved. We could even walk calmly near other dogs by the end of the session, which was previously an issue. Sam is a beautiful dog and I look forward to helping him fulfil his true potential.

We met Alex prior to our first session so we could get to know him, after all it is us who need the training not Dex!
Alex was warm, firm and friendly.Dex responded well immediately.
He is stubborn (Dex not Alex) and as Alex put it...he has trained us well in the 2 years we have had him. He is doing great with going through doors, not pulling on the lead unless he is going to his fave places, then he simply cannot wait to get there. He is slowly realising that we are in control. I am really looking forward to our next visit this Saturday to see how we have progressed. Still some work to do but positive we will get there.
Just been back to see them all for the second session and I was really pleased with how Dexter had improved! Firstly there was no barking when I knocked at the door which was excellent. They also said that he was far less demanding with his toys and demanded attention far less. Both owners now felt they had far better control of him, including calling him back inside when he has been playing in the garden. In the past he used to be very stubborn - but he now trots back in quite happily when called. Dexter used to be very possessive with his toys when out on a walk, but they told me about a walk where he didn't react to another dog who invaded his space when he had his toy. They have worked hard with Dexter and are now reaping the benefits - GOOD WORK!!

We found the training to be an enjoyable experience as we learnt new techniques that will hopefully benefit alfie in the future.
Alfie is a delightful puppy and the owners first dog. In the main they were doing really well, however I quickly identified that Alfie was a hungry dog. This was confirmed when we took him for a walk - his nose was glued to the ground and he constantly scavenged for things to eat. Although they were sticking with the guidelines of the food they were feeding him, I didn't feel it was enough. Puppies grow so quickly and have their mad half hours where they burn of loads of energy. They therefore need feeding regularly (normally 4 times a day) to ensure they have a full tummy. His owners felt terrible, but they shouldn't as they were feeding him what the packet said. They have agreed to up his daily intake, and I am confident that we will have a far more responsive Alfie when I visit them again.

Alex immediately put Olive and me at ease – he explained exactly what Bark Busters do. He soon got to know Olive and immediately started to pick up on “issues” that we both needed to address. It is still early days but we area already seeing and improvement in Olives behaviour. Barking has reduced, she has stopped sitting on the back of chairs and certainly understands my 'Ah Ah' commands.
Olive is a lovely rescue dog from one of the Greek Islands. She didn't have the best start in life but she has certainly landed on her feet now. Her owner was aware that she didn't know how manage Olive's behavior and wanted some guidance in all areas from toileting, barking to pulling on her lead. They both worked hard during the first session and by the time I left, Olive was really listening to her owner which was great.

Alex is friendly and approachable. Very easy to have around and felt like having a friend in our home.
Stanley had a few issues, but his main issues was walking him on his lead. He would pull like a train and bark at cars, bikes and especially dogs. We started work in the house first, as I believe if an owner has full control of their dog in their home, then they are half way there to having full control when they go for a walk. By the time we left home to go for a walk, Stanley was walking better than he ever had before!!

Absolutely delighted by the trainer. We understand what is needed and quickly saw both results in Stanley and ourselves. We would thoroughly recommend Alex and Bark Busters and we look forward to our next session.
Dexter's parents were unsure if I was going to be the correct trainer form them and asked if I could call round for a chat so they could get to meet me first. I am always more than happy to meet potential customers to both introduce myself and talk a bit about how the training would work. By the time I left they had booked the first session, which I am pleased to say went really well. look forward to seeing how Dexter is doing when i go back to see them all.
