What our Clients are saying about us
It was a winters day in December that my husband and son went on a secret mission. Christmas shopping perhaps? Later that day I was invited into our utility room to receive my surprise. At the first crack of light a small Black and Tan whirlwind blew across my legs, over my leather couch, over chairs and up the stairs. Apparently this new addition to our family would keep me company while my husband worked away – if I could catch him! While I appreciated the sentiment I knew the only way I could possibly cope would be to get some training. How on earth could Murdo, the pug cross, and I, ever get along? I didn’t want him to jump through hoops of fire or to run across hurdles, just to be calm, and controlled in my house. Following a quick internet search Bark Busters stood out. At the end of January the Nanny McPhee of dogs knocked at my door. “You asked for my help,” said Angela, the calm, reassuring and clearly competent trainer said as she entered the chaos. She spent the first hour talking about food, nutrition and dog psychology. It was fascinating. I had never had a dog before and it was totally new to me. Only then was she introduced to my new small child and as usual he jumped everywhere and ran around like crazy – a demonic Duracell dog! If she had had brought a knarled wooden staff I’m sure she would have tapped it on the floor, for almost immediately the magic began. Within moments Murdo became calmer, was attentive and soon began to demonstrate behaviour I could only have dreamed of. Leaving us with homework, Angela committed to return in five weeks. Her information and knowledge was immense. Her dedication to her job and commitment to our dog was second to none. She was amazing. This week Angela returned for the second time and was very impressed with our progress. I found myself as proud of Murdo as I was of my son when he was picked to be the school goal-keeper. Murdo pulled all the stops, even sitting calmly at my feet while we talked. Today we worked on lead-work and once again there was a lot to learn – for both of us. We have another lot of homework to do, which we will do with dedication before we once again meet this Nanny McPhee for a progress report and to agree next steps. We can’t thank Angela enough. She is fabulous at what she does and has turned a chaotic household into a haven of calm. Both Murdo and I are so glad that she will be with us for the next year.M.B., Ince Blundell, Merseyside11th March 2018
Angela came round into a house of a couple and their boss... Reggie the German Shepherd!! After showing us some really good techniques about how to show Reg I was his boss (Alex wasn't too shabby at it anyway) Angela went away leaving us with some simple training games, and some new behaviours for me to learn. (Turns out I needed quite some training!) We have just had our second visit this evening and what a difference a month makes!!! We have used everything we have been taught and Angela has just been welcomed by a completely different dog. Reggie used to pull on his lead, jump up at everyone and basically never leave either of us alone. Whenever we had visitors Reg would never leave them and constantly be in there face and jumping up. Sometimes even mouthing people. I physically could not walk Reggie and struggled looking after him on a day to day basis. Everything is completely different now with Angela's help. I can walk Reggie with ease on my own and enjoy our walks together. He also does not jump up at people walking in the house and has generally just calmed down into a brilliant dog. I didn't realise that I was making Reggie's behaviour worse due to how I was acting and not being the leader that I needed to be. Reggie is such a happy puppy now and is much calmer, relaxed and enjoyable to be around for everyone. (Although we still have zoomies!) Angela has changed our whole relationship with Reggie. He now sees us properly as his parents, his leaders and more importantly people who will look after him. I could not be happier with the training we have received and it has changed our life for the better. Please do not put off your dog training any longer and ring Angela straight away!!!A.R., Preston, Lancashire6th February 2017
Monty is a rescue boy and came to me with a whole bunch of issues and after 18months I was still really struggling to make improvements in his behaviour to the point that I had changed the way I was living my life to accommodate his behaviour. Angela showed me that my lack of leadership was making Monty feel more anxious and fearful as he felt he had to protect me all the time and was always trying to dominate me with his challenging behaviour. I have seen a massive improvement in his behaviour over the last month but I acknowledge I have made many mistakes in that time and need to be re-chipped myself! Each day we try the techniques Angela showed us and some days are better than others but I know this is down to my lack of leadership rather than Monty!. Simple little changes in the way I do things have allowed Monty to be far more relaxed around the home - for example covering his crate so that he has a safe place...not allowing him to jump up on the furniture and not allowing him to demand when he gets his food by constantly barking. I still have much work to do but feel confident that with Angela's direction and support Monty and I will have a good relationship where he is relaxed and enjoying a dogs life! I would highly recommend BarkBusters to those experiencing difficulties with their dog but be prepared to realise it is not necessarily the dog that requires training! Thanks Angela.J.B., Thornton, Lancashire15th September 2016
I had called in Angela as I was having trouble with my beautiful Pug who I adore but as I am about to move wanted to sort out his barking and car anxieties and some other problem areas. On arrival I had put my puggy in another room as requested but could hear the incessant barking and launching at the door which was getting me even more anxious and stressed. Angela just got up and said one word and there was not another peep for 20 minutes , that's how the rest of the session went , very reassuring, calming and always positive . Will need more sessions but definitely well worth it and have already felt the benefit in how to communicate with my puggers , also gave me lots of information help regarding food and games etc thank you Angela xG.T., Leyland, Lancashire3rd March 2016
I am over the moon with Angela's first visit with Mooey and Dozer. I was getting to the point of not being able to walk them and since the visit I can walk them happily, all other problems such as barking, jumping, general disobedience has subsided dramatically I have even had visitors which have stayed for a cuppa instead of trying to leave instantly. I can't wait for her next visit to show her the improvements. Even though I knew what the problems were, I did not know how to change them .N.S., Poulton le fylde, Lancashire6th April 2015

I found Angela to be very professional and knowledgeable. She spent time getting to know our dog and identifying where we needed help with Chester's behaviour. She gave us several exercises to work on, to improve Chester's behaviour and will be giving ongoing support until Chester is at a level we are all happy with.

Angela was very helpful. She explained to me in a straightforward manner how I need to change the way I do some things with Anton so that I become the pack leader rather than him thinking that he is in charge.
She gave some tasks to carry out and showed me how to communicate effectively with Anton in a way that makes sense to him. By teaching him various focus exercises will help him to understand that I am the leader and he doesn’t have that job and responsibility and this will help to address the problems I have with him.

Angela spent the whole afternoon with us listening to all our issues and then working with us and Alfie on the problems we were having and doing several exercises with him. We now properly understand why all these problems were happening and have a much better insight into his thinking and can't believe what a change in his behaviour we have seen already. We have changed his diet to raw and also our other 2 dogs and this also seems to have had a positive effect on him, plus he loves it! We know it will be a work in progress for a while but in the last 4 weeks I can honestly say his behaviour has improved considerably and with the continued support we know we have we are confident he will be a completely changed dog and our lives much calmer and wish we had done this sooner. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has any problems with their dog as you will be amazed how even just small changes make so much difference.

Excellent training session for both Zara and myself. Received lots of information and guidance. Most have already been actioned although Zara can be quite stubborn and looses interest quickly so a lot of work to do yet.

I really did not know what to expect, but I can't thank Angie Young enough from start to finish, her patience knowledge expertise with me as well as my dog. Our walks were getting unbearable with Bertie pulling barking, since Angie has been we have had none, no pulling or barking because I was shown right away how to nip it in the bud stop it before it started. The difference is amazing our walks have been fantastic the problem was with me, Angie showed me how clever my dog really is and it was me who needed a lot of training. There is so much to work on I will have to refer back to my pack once a week make sure I'm doing everything because the few small changes I have made have made such a difference so quickly I was very surprised so thank you so much barkbusters and Angie for your patience your knowledge and expertise.

Very informative session from a very knowledgeable trainer. Angela made us feel at ease and we both felt very confident with her training. We were pleasantly surprised at how quickly we could see a difference in Bella's attitude. Angela explained things very clearly and made us see things from Bella's perspective.
Even with just a few days of the training exercises Bella seems a calmer and happier dog and we both feel positive about being able to address her issues in the long term.
