What dog owners are saying about us
Well what can I say, it’s truly amazing, Duke is doing brilliantly, he is much better when Richard is here I will say that, but he is so much better generally, he does still try to mind me a bit, but I can stop him in his tracks. Thank you again for everything you have changed our lives.C.W., Maidstone, Kent (Testimonial)27th February 2019
We found the session we had with Tina very useful. We would highly recommend Bark Busters to anyone having problems with their dog. Tina has worked wonders with Biscuit in only one session and we are really pleased we found Bark Busters.H.P., Sittingbourne, Kent (Testimonial)20th July 2017
charlie used to pull on the lead ,react badly when seeing other dogs or cats.she used to charge past us when going up or down stairs, jump up at people that came to the house. but since just one day of training and knowing a certain word and sound she no longer does these things. after being advised to change her diet she is now a lot calmer.we would like to thank tina for her help and advice and would recommend bark busters to anyone who has trouble with their petsS.S., rochester, Kent (Testimonial)15th March 2017
Tina was able to explain things very simply. She has suggested a raw food diet which makes sense as we all act differently with too many additives. I am struggling to get him eating just raw food, I have therefore tried to gradually make the changeover. Bradley was an anxious but loveable Jack Russell and I really can see an improvement in him. He is less anxious, better on the lead (almost angelic) having been a real puller and this wasnt even part of what we practiced its just a consequence of being more in control. We are practicing leaving without him barking and he is half way there. He will let most go without a bark but the last one out is still a problem. We will work on this. We have to improve strangers arriving at the house - this is more a weekend thing but its on our homework list. Overall I know he is getting much less stressed and is returning more to his puppy chilled out position which I am thrilled with.K.S., Chart Sutton, Kent (Testimonial)12th January 2017
We got our dog Harry, from a rescue centre 18 months ago. I recently had a baby and unfortunately when we brought our little girl home from the hospital Harry found it very difficult to deal with. He was barking and crying constantly (he literally did not stop for hours), jumping up at the baby, and just generally working himself into such a state that my husband took him to the vets because we were so worried about his wellbeing. They gave him a tablet form of Adaptil and a collar. Neither worked and a few days later, becoming increasingly desperate as my husband was due to return to work and I'd had a caesarean and was unable to care for the baby and control Harry at the same time, I got in touch with the rescue centre to see if they had any advice. They recommended Tina at Bark Busters and I called her in tears - the thought of rehoming Harry was breaking our hearts, but at that present moment I was living upstairs with the baby in our bedroom because things really were that bad. We had tried all of the recommended actions ahead of having the baby - Harry was familiar with the pram, her moses basket, my husband had brought her first babygro home from hospital for him to smell etc., he was still having all of his walks, but nothing could have prepared us for just how badly he reacted. We were unable to have any visitors for the first week because it was just too stressful trying to deal with Harry's reaction to being near the baby, and relatives looking at us as if we were mad to have such a dog. Tina was so understanding and reassuring, I was filled with confidence from the very start that she would be able to help us and she kindly agreed to come and see us that very weekend. Tina asked us lots of questions about Harry and what we wanted to get out of the training which was really helpful. It wasn't a one size fits all solution, the exercises that she showed us were very specific to our problem and tailored to Harry. Harry responded so well, a few hours after Tina had left we managed to sit down and eat together as a family for the very first time, something that I never would have imagined would happen any time soon - baby in her basket next to me and Harry laying peacefully on the floor underneath my husband's chair (his usual spot at dinner time). The relief we both felt was overwhelming - Harry was very much our first baby and anybody that loves their dogs will understand the emotional turmoil at the thought of giving up a member of your family. But with a very tiny newborn baby, had it not been for Tina's help, we would have had no other choice given the circumstances. I can't recommend Tina and Bark Busters enough. Tina really did work wonders, by educating us as owners (or alphas as we now are) purely through showing us effective communication skills and teaching us how Harry saw things. She really did change the start of our journey as parents, if we'd had to give Harry up I do not doubt for a second that it would have really marred what should have been a wonderful time. Tina has since been in touch to follow up and we will be seeing her again once as I am healed enough to help Harry with walking with the pram and the baby. I would absolutely say that the training is worth every single penny and I would use Tina again and again. It has meant the world to us that we were able to keep Harry. He now just behaves as he did before the baby arrived, except that when he returns from a walk he comes in to see where she is and then goes about his business as usual. As I type this he is curled up at the foot of the sofa underneath where the baby is napping in her bouncer, I couldn't be more chuffed.K.P., Hoo, Kent (Testimonial)27th May 2016

I thoroughly enjoyed my session with Tina today.. It was insightful and really useful... I can see a way forward now with training, which I hadn’t before. I’m So glad I found her... Roxy and I will now begin some more structured training and look forward to seeing Tina again soon to see how we’re getting on... Thank you Tina
Such a gorgeous young mastiff just needing some great leadership and quiet calm guidance. I can't wait to do some more work with her to teach her more focus once the basics are in place.

Tina was very clear and patient when explaining the training techniques we needed to use to prevent our dog from continuing to act in an aggressive manner to other dogs. There were 3 of us to explain and demonstrate to and she spent time with each of us. We were encouraged during the session when we saw that our dog immediately responded well to the techniques Tina used which we then each followed. We have been using the same training techniques for just over a week now and have seen a big improvement already. We have tried various types of training before to resolve his aggression but non have been effective previously. We are very thankful that Tina has given us the tools to work with to train him out of his behaviour so we can enjoy taking him out for walks again and be sociable with others dogs.
A super quick bright dog had been bitten to another dog some time ago and progressively became more anxious and defensive when seeing other dogs. The family were keen to help him so that he would relax and walk past other dogs and be safe to let off lead and not rush barking at dogs he didn't know. He was a star and his family worked well with the techniques I demonstrated and he began to improve very quickly on the day. Now, with such committed owners, there's no reason why they can't succeed.

The training was fantastic we saw a difference in the dogs straight away. Lots of constructive information, looking forward to positive ongoing results
Two very gorgeous but hyper Staffies! They greeted me by jumping up in a over friendly way and took a while to calm down. Rough play with each other and mugging every visitor was an issue! They both responded really well and were pretty tired after their brain work. I'll be going back to work on loose lead walking and recall.

Just wanted to say that things are absolutely great , Enya has responded really really well to training and things have moved really fast and she is already off lead again with no signs of aggression towards other dogs
Enya had been attacked by another dog in an upprovoked attack and has since become very defensive and protective over her ball when out on walks, worse when on lead if a dog came up to her and she was anxious. This resulted in her lunging and trying to drive dogs away. Prior to this she had been happy to interact and play with other dogs socially. We started with games to show her that her owners could make decisions and keep her safe and after less than 8 weeks, she has made excellent progress.

Tina came to help me with my two German Shepherds. Both girls, they had become unruly and over excited, Barking at other dogs and generally not listening. Tina was kind, calm and informative. Pointing out the obvious mistakes I was Making. Giving me instructions and exercises to practice with my girls. I have seen a difference within a week. As advised I have changed their diet and the difference is really noticeable. I really feel that Tina has put as back on track, towards two beautifully behaved dogs.
LIfe was becoming annoying and difficult for the owner of these two wayward girls! Lovely natures, but had decided that their job was to guard the home, their owner, ALL the time! So lunging and barking was a real issue and with two large dog a worry for their owner. They responded wonderfully! GSD's love to have rules and boundaries that they understand and are consistent and they relaxed and began to listen. Food does make a big difference, too many carbs in today's processed dog foods just create excess energy and exacerbate anxieties.

l was very impressed in the major improvement that Tina had made with our overgrown puppy he is now a much more relaxed Dog coming home from work is a joy now as I no longer get bowled over and knocked. off my feet taking him out on walks are a lot less stressful as I am now the one taking the Dog for a walk not the Dog taking me l would 100% recommend Tina she certainly knows her stuff .
An overgrown puppy is the right description! A large strong Rhodesian Ridgeback at 2 years old and a beautiful example of his breed, was diving on furniture to guard against intruders, loved the sound of his own voice and at well over 45 kgs and very athletic, had been known to knock family over and pull so strongly on the lead he was almost uncontrollable. However, he began to understand what was wanted and started to respond and enjoy the new training games we developed so he started to control those impulses that prevented his owners from fully enjoying him.

Excellent training techniques which we can all apply at home and whilst we are out. Also good advice on nutrition. Everything was explained clearly and Tina was very patient showing us exactly how to follow all the instructions given. Enya is thoroughly enjoying her new games with us, she is much calmer as a result.
Enya is a very clever young dog and needed to have her brain challenged! We worked on impulse control and focus games as she had begun to get dominant with some other dogs when out and about.

We found Tina to be very helpful in training us to manage Barney. The session was interesting and we and Barney learnt so much.
Barney was a very cute boy, but rather hyperactive and lacking concentration. Once he truly understood his owners new training games, he was a star!

I first saw Duke in January and this is the update I've received. Such a great dog and so happy to respond and his owners can now enjoy him 100% of the time!

Very pleased with the advice Tina gave me, and by the time she left Chico was a completely different dog. I appreciate I have a long way to go, but will do work with Chico following Tina’s advice. I didn’t think this day would come. A big thanku to Tina , my children were advising me to get rid of the dog, but I didn’t want to give up on him and now with Tina’s help, I’m sure we will be fine, I know I’m on the right Rd.
Little Chico had become aggressive to his owner when resource guarding. He'd bitten her several times and quite rightly her family were concerned for her wellbeing. However, Chico fairly early on in the session from barking non stop at me suddenly realises that we were speaking his language and now he understood, was willing at first to cooperate and a little later began to love all the high praise he was getting because we were setting him up to get things right! He showed his true nature and so long as the work is continued as shown he can become the dog he was meant to be.
