Welcome to dog training Banbury, I'm Abi Dudfield, your local Bark Busters dog behaviour therapist and trainer, and I'm here to help you to resolve any behaviour problems that are causing you concern or to help with your general dog obedience training. I also provide puppy training, to give your puppy the very best start in life. These are one of my favourite lessons, helping new or experienced owners to understand and educate their new puppy.

My own dog is a miniature dachshund and when I rescued him, he was very anxious and aggressive towards both people and other dogs. I worked with him every day, with lots of patience and consistency. Now he's a changed dog and seeing him change from a nervous, reactive dog into a much calmer and happier dog, who can now be around people and other dogs comfortably, is very rewarding. It’s a big part of why I help people with their dogs too.

After successfully completed my education in Psychology, Criminology, and Law, achieving top grades, I was offered further education from three different universities to study Law. However, I quickly realised that it wasn’t what I truly wanted to do, so I decided to follow my passion of working with dogs. I started by volunteering with Guide Dogs for the Blind, helping to raise puppies from birth and preparing them to enter their training to become a guide dog. This gave me an excellent understanding of how puppies and dogs learn and develop, and just how important early training is in shaping their behaviour.

My mum is also an experienced Bark Busters trainer and has a background of working with Guide Dogs for the Blind too. Having seen the great success achieved in helping many dog owners overcome their dog's behaviour problems, I decided that a career with Bark Busters was where my heart lay. So, I started my journey of becoming a Bark Busters Dog Behaviour Therapist & Trainer. I now work with lots of clients and their dogs who have many different behaviour problems to help them on their path to a happier life with their dogs.

All this reinforced that dog training is something I genuinely enjoy, and it was the right choice in building a career with Bark Busters. Becoming a dog behaviour therapist felt like a natural step for me, especially as all our current family dogs have always been trained using Bark Busters techniques.

I assess your dog's personality, and I tailor a training plan, and I try to make the training fun for both dog and owner. I explain how your dog perceives the world, and the reasons behind the behaviour problems. I show and guide you how to carry out the training programme and ensure that you are happy with the results from our very first lesson.
