11th October 2013 - Andy Waterhouse

Andy dealt with Aggression

Andy was obviously very competent and loved dogs. He was very patient with both Carlos and us and showed us useful techniques and tools to used to help settle our fear aggressive rescue. He has also been available on the phone both before and after the training session and reassured us he would be back if we needed him. Thanks, Andy

- -.C, Bromley, Kent (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Andy
Carlos was previously Bark Buster trained, so when he moved through rescue to a new home and a new area, his Bark Buster guarantee moved with him - ensuring continuous support when needed.

11th October 2013 - Sharon Chapman

Sharon dealt with Barking, Pulling

Didn't know what to expect had no experience of trainers before. Felt at ease with Sharon straight away. She explained everything in a simple way so I could understand what she was doing with Smudge. He responded to Sharon brilliantly, she made him feel relaxed as well. Hope to continue training in 2 weeks looking forward to it.

Lee dealt with Pulling, Recall

One word - "amazing". Really impressed with the results after one session. Really enjoying putting my training in to practice and my pup is responding really well. Can't wait to see what we can achieve in the future. Thank you Lee!

3rd October 2013 - Jacquie Callaby

Jacquie dealt with Barking, Pulling

Just an update on Stanley. After a single bah the first morning he hasn't barked in the morning since. I think the combination of food, crate covering & general leadership have also really helped. He's not yet perfect, but MUCH more respectful in the house & generally better behaved. Thank you so much.

- -.D, Maidenhead, Berkshire (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Jacquie
This little dog was getting his owners up with his barking very early in the morning. They can now have a lie in, especially at the weekend!

1st October 2013 - Alex Fraser

Alex dealt with Aggression, Barking, Chewing, Pulling, Recall, Separation anxiety

We adopted Burtie from the RSPCA at burton on Trent soon after losing our beloved teddy who, also a jack Russell x, during our 12 years together gave us no trouble at all. We naively thought there are no bad dogs , just bad owners, however, we soon found that Burtie had a number of issues. Teddy was always walked off the lead but Burtie when walked on the lead would be aggressive when encountering other dogs & when we tried gradually with him off the lead he would be easily distracted & not come back when called. When left at home alone, teddy had the run of the house without problem but Burtie was anxious & destructive. We realised that at 2 1/2 , having spent the last 3 months in Kennels, Burtie may need more time to settle than we anticipated. Although we have had dogs in the past, it now seems they were pussy cats by comparison. We were unsure how to handle him for the best & a bit of research on the net led us to Barkbusters. A phone call resulted in Alex coming to our house & after chatting & getting our & Burt's background, we went into the garden to try a few simple exercises. We were amazed at how Burt responded & were encouraged by Alex's confidence. We were given simple instructions & exercises to practice with Burtie & in the weeks that followed saw real progress. We also realised we were as much Alex's pupil as Burtie. We have had to put in the work for the results but if has been worthwhile. Alex has been in regular contact & we met up for a walk with him & his own dog Max, giving us confidence walking Burtie with other dogs. He has been quick to respond when we were at our wits end & has been so supportive. Burtie is a much more settled dog. Great fun to walk off the lead & play with, we are still progressing, & Alex is still available if we need him. Would recommend without hesitation.

- -.A, Moss Nook, Greater Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
Due to the time and effort Burtie's owners have put in they have seen a real improvement in his behaviour which is excellent. Burtie is a lovely dog but he did have a number of behavioural issues. I am delighted with how he has improved during the time I have been working with them and I hope they have many happy years together.

Lynn dealt with Puppy management

Fro the moment I picked up the phone and spoke to Lynn I felt reassured and supported with taking care of my new cockerpoo puppy. She quickly scheduled our first appointment for the Saturday which was fantastic. Lynn has given my husband and I so much confidence as first time dog owners. We have been given wonderful advice and strategies personalised to us and our home. I cant praise or thank Lynn enough for all her advice and support. 100% recommended to anyone with a new puppy

30th September 2013 - Alex Fraser

Alex dealt with Puppy management

Beau is my first dog and having never owned a dog before I certainly wasn't aware of how much work a young puppy can be, hence the need for Bark Busters. I like the fact that Alex came to my home to meet us. He has given me the skills to train her and I am really happy with how she behaves. I can even take her in the car now without her barking her head off and trying to get on my knee whilst I am driving. I also know that if I need Alex's advice or help in the future, all I have to do is pick up the phone!

- -.K, Manchester, Greater Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
Beau is a Beautiful Chocolate Labrador but she certainly has a mind of her own and needed some direction. Following my first visit her owner has certainly put the hours in, which has resulted in a very well behaved dog. Well done!!

So sorry for taking to long to leave you some feedback - but you will be pleased to hear that Toby is doing really well. As you know, although we have always had dogs, Toby was my first very own dog and I really wanted to get him off to the best possible start. I would like to thank you for your support over the first few months of me having Toby. He is now a pleasure to walk and always comes back when I call him. Thank you Alex

- -.R, Urmston, Greater Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
As you can see from his photo, Toby was a beautiful little boxer pup when I first met him, and like all puppies - he was so full of beans. Toby simply needed some rules and guidelines as to what behaviour was acceptable and his owner has done a great job. Toby is now a well balanced and calm boxer and I am confident he will continue to behave himself in the future.

30th September 2013 - Alex Fraser

Alex dealt with Barking, Jumping up, Pulling

My wife and I got in touch with Bark Busters due to the constant barking from Sam when people knocked at our door and when people were leaving. Alex contacted us and came to our house to meet Sam and to discuss the best approach from Sam's barking. After a couple of sessions working with Alex, Sam has really settled down. His training is still ongoing, but he is a lot quieter now. It is also good to know that we can still call upon Alex if we need his help in the future. Thank you

- -.S, Chorlton Cum Hardy, Greater Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
Until I met Sam I didn't realise how high-pitched some dogs can bark - he was truly off the scale. He was such an affectionate dog, but his barking was becoming a real issue. I am really pleased with how he has improved and I am confident that if they continue to do everything I asked them to do he will continue to get better and better. What a smashing little dog!

We are happy with Brody's progress so far and the advice you provided gave us a good insight into dog "pack" psychology and the techniques and strategies we can use around the house to change and modify his behaviour. He is still a very young dog, not yet 9 months old, so we need to keep repeating the training so that he doesn't revert to his dominant behaviour. Brody is now doing really well on his lead and when he is off the lead he returns when called. He is now socialising with other dogs and gets on well with our daughters two dogs and he recently went to the beach with them. We have a busy house with lots of visitors who he still welcomes very enthusiastically but he now calms down much quicker. He sleeps well in his bed on the floor and his toilet training has gone really well. Thanks again

- -.J, Salford, Greater Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
Brodie is a cracking little dog, but he really felt that he needed to be in charge of their house. His owners worked really hard on the training plan I had set them and by my second visit he was a different dog - so much calmer. Keep up the good work!

30th September 2013 - Lynn Prentice

Lynn dealt with Barking, Digging, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Pulling, Recall, Other

It was a real eye opener discovering the reasoning behind Wolfy's bad behaviour. Now we can really focus on putting things right by focusing on what Lynn has taught us. Wolfy is already showing an improvement and we look forward to continuing with the training and seeing the results

29th September 2013 - Graham Milgrew

Graham dealt with Barking, Hyperactivity, Pulling

George our deaf boxer was becoming increasingly vocal and frustrated. He was barking constantly and this would in turn antagonise our older steady boxer Bogey. On her first visit, George put on a really good show for Jo, barking and constantly play fighting with Bogey. She taught us that our efforts to correct George were perhaps misguided and she focused our training on both dogs, not just the 'troublemaker'. We were given a variety of different techniques to use and all were flexible to adapt to the needs of each individual dog. After two weeks we had seen a real change in George's behaviour and also Bogey was much happier with the new situation. We still have a little way to go, especially with lead work, but we have ongoing support from Jo who is constantly available via all forms of communication. She gave us advice regarding all aspects of having dogs in the family, and was a factor in deciding to AstroTurf our garden to great effect. Many thanks xxx

Trainer note from Graham
Deaf dogs are just as trainable as normal dogs. They simply need a different form of communication. All owners of deaf (and blind) dogs will tell you that this soon becomes second nature, but at the start it is a case of learning a new language and then teaching your dog what this new language is. Dogs are not robots and one size doesn't fit all, so it is working out a strategy to deal with your dog based on how your dog responds to you. In Georges case he is fortunate to have an older more experienced Boxer, Bogey, to learn from as well as his owners, but Bogey was getting just as carried away with playtime as George and forgetting to listen to his owners, so it was a case of double trouble. His owners have now been working with both dogs establishing sign language, touch and floor vibrations for George and sign language plus vocal commands for Bogey so both dogs know what they can and can't do and what is expected from them. Instead of two huge Boxers running around creating havoc they now have a calm household where the dogs look to them for guidance. As George is young and a typical bouncy Boxer this will take time, but no more time than a normal hearing Boxer now he understands what is wanted from his owners. A truly great result.
