Home Puppy & Dog Training Tamworth

Home Behaviour Training with Bark Busters Tamworth

If your dog is barking excessively, showing aggression, pulling on the lead, or struggling with anxiety, you're not alone - and you don't have to solve it on your own.

At Bark Busters Tamworth, we specialise in home dog training and behaviour modification, helping you transform your dog's behaviour in the environment where problems actually happen: your home.

Why Choose In-Home Dog Training?

Most behavioural issues don't start in a training class - they start at home.

That's why Bark Busters Tamworth focuses on real-life training in your dog's everyday environment, allowing us to:

  • Address behaviour at its source
  • Observe real triggers and routines
  • Tailor training specifically to your dog
  • Coach you in real time, in your own home

This approach leads to faster, more practical results compared to generic group classes.

About me

I was born in Southeast London and grew up with my family being entertained by often up to 7 small dogs. After leaving education, I worked in various industries mostly in the motor trade and then moved to Kent to raise my family. Four children, all living at home, along with my 4 Labradors. A busy life indeed!

Over the years I realised that dogs were an essential part of my life, so I began working with local rescue groups fostering dogs in need, some successfully rehomed, some who never left. Most of them had behaviour problems, trauma, anxiety, aggression, and other unwanted behaviours caused by their prior individual situations. One of them was Coco a lovely chocolate Labrador, who became aggressive with other dogs who approached her, and she was a real puller on the lead too. This caused me aching shoulders and a bad back and I began to dread taking her out. I realised that I needed help from a professional. I found Bark Busters and the local dog behaviour therapist, Andy, instantly changed mine and Coco’s life!

Since then, and after becoming a Bark Busters Dog Behaviour Therapist myself, I have helped lots of dogs and their owners to overcome the behaviour problems, with our easy and gentle training methods.

My Reviews and Testimonials

Take a look at my Trustpilot reviews and my client testimonials from dog owners I have helped who have struggled with their dog's behaviour.

"I was having problems with my dog Alfie for instance constant barking at visitors coming to the home and making the experience really stressful for everyone, protective over people in the home and barking at anyone that came near, and I didn’t seem to have any control. Sarah came along and talked to me about having a better relationship with Alfie and basically educating me to have control so Alfie can start to respect me and listen to me which he hasn’t been doing previously. After about 3 hours he was a different dog! Even in that short time there was such a difference in him and I know that moving forward the training and consistency is going to make such a difference for Alfie and everyone else. Sarah is so knowledgeable and knows exactly what she is doing and made me feel that actually with persistence Alfie will change. I’m looking forward to our next session with Sarah."

"We had a really positive experience with the dog training for Teddy. The session was incredibly insightful and provided us with a deeper understanding of his behaviour and how to communicate more effectively with him. We learned techniques and tips that we had never come across before, and they’ve made a noticeable difference in our day-to-day interactions with him. Since the training, we’ve been putting a lot of what we learned into practice, and it’s been great to see Teddy respond so well. The guidance we received has not only helped improve Teddy’s behavior, but also strengthened our bond with him. We really appreciate the patience, knowledge, and supportive approach from Sarah throughout the process. We only wished we’d asked more questions."

"Sarah listened to our concerns and description of our routine with Willow, without any judgement. She broke everything down for us in regards to understanding various behaviours and provided us with written information to go through as well. We addressed the priority concerns and practiced techniques with Sarah, we didn't feel rushed in any way - Sarah made sure we were happy with everything we were practicing and that it all made sense. She was very attentive to our dog as well. We have noticed so many improvements since that first session and are excited for the following sessions to see what's to come!"

"Sarah was very professional. She was really informative on what we needed to do. She also talked us through the training in practice and gave us constant feedback to help us support Teddy's needs. She explained the importance of perseverance and patience. It won't be a quick fix but after 5 days we're seeing signs of improvement. We know she's there for us throughout the training programme. Can't praise her enough."

"Sarah was extremely friendly and helpful with lots of information and advice about how to deal with Meg’s issues. We discussed the background of Meg and the challenges I had encountered since having her and whilst I had come along way winning Meg’s trust I needed help to move forward with other issues and the training advice and tips were very useful and hopefully will work. Sarah was a very knowledgeable but also honest and open about it takes time patience and time needs to be put in. Highly recommend to anyone based on my experience to date"

"Our first session with Sarah was a game changer, we understand so much more which has made us generally so much happier and confident with our dog, finally gotten past feeling stuck which resulted in a decline in our dogs behavior, she's so much happier and calmer, the training so far has felt very manageable and achievable and look forward to progressing. Loved the advice on feeding and nutrition and again that was also another game changer for our dog. Overall we're over the moon, thanks Sarah!!"

"Really pleased with the first lesson and subsequent improvement in the dogs behaviour, it’s definitely a marathon not a sprint but have the tools/technique's to work with"

"My trainer was a lady called Sarah. She was absolutely fantastic. She explained so much at our first meeting. We all felt like we’d known her years! In our opinion she went above and beyond. My fur baby did really well. I was so proud of him with Sarah’s instructions. I couldn’t believe the difference after just one morning. It was incredible. I’m blown over to be honest. I’ve been doing the technique everyday and he’s already grasped this stage. I have a few more sessions as my dog has a few things to sort out but I’m confident the next sessions will go just as swimmingly. Sarah was very professional and really friendly. Extremely knowledgeable and put a lot of things I asked to rest. Would absolutely 100% recommend anyone who is having issues with their dog. Money completely well worth spent. As you may tell, I am one very happy customer. Thanks"
