Dog Training Bromley, Bexley & Home Puppy Classes

Home Dog Training Bromley & Bexley

Welcome to dog training Bromley and Bexley, I am Sydney Coleman, your local Bark Busters trainer and behaviour therapist. I’m looking forward to meeting you to help you with all aspect of your training needs or your dog's behaviour problems. Maybe the pulling on the lead or reactiveness, to people or dogs, is causing you to dread your walks. Perhaps, your dog won't come back to you when off the lead, or in the home your dog is barking too much, jumping up or suffers from separation anxiety. Maybe you are the proud pet parents of a new puppy. If you're not fully enjoying your life with your dog, I can help you get the relationship back on track.

There are many behaviour problems that I can help you to resolve from a tiny chihuahua’s toileting problem or aggressive behaviours to visitors, to large breeds who are pulling on the lead, jumping up, guarding stolen items, and even the giants that are nervous in traffic.

It is not a one size fits all type of training

If you are looking for professional dog training near you in Bromley or Bexley, then you have found the right place. I don't use a one size fits all approach. Instead, I assess your dog's personality and guide you to help you achieve your dog's goals. Every dog has a unique personality, and once assessed, they respond really well to my positive dog training programme that I tailor to your dog's personality, and one that suits your lifestyle too. I come to your home to meet you and your family, and we discuss your concerns, assess the behaviour problems and your training needs. I develop a tailored training plan to suit you and your dog.

If you are experiencing problems outside the home, we will have the opportunity to venture out too, to assess the behaviours in a controlled environment. I will coach and demonstrate the training techniques and fun games, to replicate real problems, as we educate your dog and resolve the unwanted behaviours and apply the new or wanted behaviours. I won't leave you until you are happy with the training techniques, and I can see that you can use the various exercises yourself to continue to practice daily to develop the new positive behaviours and get the results you want.

You will also receive our Bark Busters unique Support Guarantee for either one year or the life of your dog. Pay only once and I will return free of charge to provide further help and support with any behaviour problem, whether new or recurring, giving you peace of mind that you can contact me to help to resolve any future unwanted behaviours at no additional charge.

I can assist you with your dog's training or behaviour needs and show you how to instantly communicate in a way that your dog understands. It's not complicated, once we understand how dogs think, and understand what motivates them, we start to see the transformation, from a dog that is confused to a dog that understands what we want.

I will show you how you can gently and naturally take control while still being your dog's best friend and experience the joy of sharing a happy life with a well-behaved dog. In fact, you will see a greater bond and loving relationship emerge, that you never felt possible.

We also train dogs with disabilities

Bark Busters have a very successful programme for dogs with disabilities. Deaf and blind dogs, and dogs with missing limbs. Our methods work with all dogs regardless of their disabilities.

About me

I was born in North Kent, and I grew up around dogs. My mother used to foster dogs and often failed to find them homes because she loved them too much! We did have 7 at one time which were mostly labradors, but also Shih Tzus too. They were a part of my life, and I always became involved in their training, helping to walk and retrain them, ready for their new homes.

I went to college, and I studied business and marketing management. After graduating, it became clear that I really wasn't enjoying my roles in business or finding fulfilment. However, luckily, my mother who had moved to a different part of the country was a successful Bark Busters behaviour therapist and trainer. When I visited and stayed with her, I realised that this would be a perfect career move for me and a way to satisfy my love of dogs and to help people to fully enjoy their furry family members.  I applied and after my extensive training, it was the best decision of my life.

The two dogs in my family have both had behaviour problems in the past. Buster, a labrador now 10 years old, was reactive to other dogs and a puller on the lead too, but using the Bark Busters kind, calm and positive communication approach, I now enjoy my walks as he can have fun running around off lead. My other dog is Enzo, a cockerpoo, who came to us as a puppy for my younger sister and had the usual puppy behaviours of chewing carpets and furniture, toilet accidents and biting hands with his needle teeth. What can I say, he's a cockerpoo and needed a lot of education to respond to requests. He was hard work, but he is now a lovely 4-year-old that I can feel proud of.

If you are a new or an experienced dog owner and have a behaviour problem that is ongoing or only just appeared, have a rescue dog who needs help to settle, have a new puppy and want to give them the best start in life, or you would like advice before you get a new puppy, I would love to help. Please do contact me for a no obligation chat and to find out more about the ways we can work together to have the dog you've always wanted.
