Dog Training Kidderminster

Welcome to dog training Kidderminster & West Midlands Southwest, my name is Tom Ryan, and I am your local Bark Busters dog behaviour therapist and trainer.

Dog Behaviour Problems?

I can help you with any issue that you might have with you dog, whether it is jumping up, reactiveness to dogs or people, excessive barking, separation anxiety, stealing items, pulling on lead, lack of recall any other behaviour problems that are stopping you from enjoying your life with your dog.  I work with all ages and breeds including, mixed breeds, doodles, German Shepherd’s, terriers, pointers, the list goes on, and of course any of the herding breeds. Of course, I love helping with puppies or adopted rescue dogs too.

Our unique 12-months or Lifetime of your dog support guarantee, where one payment gives ongoing support for the chosen period, provides peace of mind and allows you to relax, secure in the knowledge that my help is always available for any issue, even new behaviour problems that develop later in life.

If you are looking for professional dog training near you in Kidderminster and West Midlands Southwest areas, then you have found the right place. My methods are easy to follow, and they are instinctively understood by dogs very quickly as they are based on the way dogs naturally communicate with each other. I will show, demonstrate and help you to do the home training as it’s important that you and your family can replicate the progress we will make in the first lesson. I will not leave until you are happy that you can get the results you want whether it’s to improve recall, stop unnecessary barking, prevent stealing, reactiveness or ANY behaviour you wish to improve.

The most satisfying aspect of my work is when dog owners tell me that they were contemplating giving up their dog to rescue (or, worse, euthanised) but that they now feel supported, the training is giving them excellent results, and they have rebuilt the bond with their dog and are enjoying them once more.

Puppy training classes in your home

If you are looking for puppy training classes near you, then why not consider my home training. My puppy programme is fun and friendly and will help you to become the proud owner of a happy puppy. Group training classes can be very stressful for your puppy and if they become disruptive in the classes you can often be asked to leave. My lessons are informative and provides puppies with the very best start in life.

My home puppy training lessons cover topics such as:

  • Training toileting habits
  • Appropriate diet and good food manners
  • Recall - coming when called
  • Gate and door control
  • Sit, stay and down training
  • Correct holding of the lead and walking
  • Walking to heel
  • Distance control (staying with you when there are other distractions)
  • How to successfully socialise your puppy
  • How to de-sensitise, for example, vacuum cleaners and car travel etc…
  • Protecting your puppy from being overwhelmed by people or other dogs
  • Accustoming to handling, bathing and grooming
  • Bad behaviour prevention and management, e.g. jumping up, mouthing, play biting and chewing etc...

Bark Busters dog training has become part of my family, as my wife and eldest child are also dog behaviour therapists too. Our interest and work with Bark Busters started a long time ago after engaging one of their dog behaviour therapists to help with Coco, a rescued dog, who although was initially calm, began to show aggression, lunging at dogs and people, and she pulled so much on the lead that it was a real concern trying to walk her.

After the lesson, I was left in awe of how well she responded to the tailor-made training programme that was given to us and the amazing support we received. I loved their methods of using voice tones and body language, observing how dogs communicate with each other, and the fun games teaching impulse control. As a result, with our newly learned methods, it helped with other rescue dogs we adopted later too.

If you are struggling with any aspect of your dog's behaviour, no matter how severe, please don't give up. Please do give me a call so that we can have a no obligation chat about how I can help you and to answer any of your questions. You can start your training journey to an enjoyable dog.
