Bark Busters Reviews and Customer Testimonials

4th March 2025 - Alex Fraser

Alex dealt with Pulling, Other

Alex was great, very knowledgeable and put me & Storm at ease with his techniques. I was nervous walking Storm in case another dog was about but since changing his harness (as advised by Alex) and some other things, he’s been great to walk on lead which is what I wanted to achieve.

Alex dealt with Barking, Pulling, Recall, Separation Anxiety

Alex visited to help us with our anxious rescue dog Frida. He took us through a number of practical training activities that we could do with her to help with her separation anxiety, issues with people knocking on the door and entering the flat, and pulling on the lead. We’ve already seen an improvement in most areas after a week of practicing and feel positive about how things will continue to improve.

- K.B, Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
Frida is a lovely dog who already listened to her owners more than a lot of dogs I meet. But she is very nervous of strangers entering her home and hates being left home alone. In order to improve these behavioural issues, its important that we change the dynamic between Frida and her parents so that she becomes aware they are going to keep her safe in all situations and that she doesn’t need to worry when she is home alone. She did really well during the session and I’m looking forward to catching up with them all in a few weeks.

Alex dealt with Hyperactivity, Pulling

Alex is a dog whisperer. We've had big problems with Frank walking nicely on lead, and with him playing a bit rough with other dogs. Within the first lesson he was walking to heel beautifully, and his manners with other dogs have already improved too. We're not complacent but the tools and techniques that he's equipped us with have been unbelievably effective in such a short space of time!

- J.N, Salford (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
I know our training methods work well and I really love the Wagg Walker harness. Following the initial session, most customers will get some relatively quick wins, but some behaviours can take longer to improve. Frank however improved in all areas both inside and outside of the home. He used to get overexcited when one lead and would jump and mouth his owners which was one of the key reasons I was asked to help. By the end of the session he was walking to heel perfectly, no jumping or mouthing. I have also heard that he is also calm when he has a dog friend over, where before he would jump all over them and never settle. Even I was blown away by how well the did.

Alex dealt with Aggression, Barking, Pulling, Recall, Separation Anxiety, Sibling Rivalry

Alex was very professional and confident with us and our doggies, and us all feel comfortable with the new techniques we was taught and also could adapt the technique to our lifestyle and schedule, the first session was very informative and positive, I am looking forward to the continued support and seeing improvement with our doggies

- L.W, Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
Really enjoyed the session! Although some behaviours can take time to improve or fix, most customers will get some relatively quick fixes following the initial session. Following up sessions are great and I can continue to develop the owners skills so that’s they can make their dogs the best versions of themselves. Looking forward to catching up with them all soon.

Alex dealt with Chewing, Puppy Training, Other

Great session, myself and my wife felt we got plenty of help and direction from Alex. Well demonstrated and put across so was easy to replicate.

- S.B, MANCHESTER (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
My job is definitely training people not their dog. The methods I teach are simple but effective. The hardest part of training any dog of any age is definitely being consistent. We also need good body language, we need to keep calm, and we need to ensure the basics are in place - right food and right amount, the right amount of sleep, mental stimulation and understanding the importance of being aloof. Looking forward to catching up with them all in a few weeks.

Alex dealt with Barking, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Pulling, Recall, Separation Anxiety

Alex did a phenomenal job. Pod had struggled with reactivity to dogs on walks. Within one session Alex has got us on the road to enjoying our walks!

- S.T, Salford (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
All dogs are clever, but some breeds want to please their owners more than others and Pod was one of these dogs. Apart from being rather excitable when people entered their home, they didn’t really have any issues with Pod’s behaviours at home, but they were struggling with him on walks as he was rather barky when he saw another dog. I always like to do some work in the home first to get a dog listening better to the owners before focusing on lead work and reactivity. He did bark at the first dog we saw, but by the time we finished the walk he was far more focused on them and the barking stopped. I have confidence in the training techniques I teach, but this session even exceeded my expectations. I received an update a few days later advising that he has continued to behave himself on walks and they now both enjoy talking him out. Great result!

Alex dealt with Barking, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Recall

Alex was fantastic with our dog Ludo. We have been having some problems with him barking at people in the house and out on walks. Alex did some exercises in the house and then we went on a walk to practice some recall. We are very happy with the tips and advice he gave us and are already seeing an improvement with Ludo's behaviour in our home.

- H.C, Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
Another great session and both Ludo and his parents did really well! I have worked with a lot of foreign rescue dogs and in the main they are quite nervous and usually more nervous of men than women. It’s always important that we take the initial training session at the dogs pace, to ensure we don’t overwhelm them. Ludo was less anxious than a lot of the rescues I’ve met and he did really well both inside and outside of the home. I’m confident with some consistency he will continue to do better and better. Keep up the good work.

Alex dealt with Barking, Jumping up, Pulling, Recall, Other

Alex helped me with my 10 month old Samoyed Kingston who I was really struggling to walk due to some behaviours he was having during the walk such as barking, lunging, biting the lead and re-directing onto us, I was feeling hopeless and wasn’t enjoying the walks at all. Due to having a bad experience with a previous trainer I was nervous about having the consultation with Alex however Alex was Absolutely fantastic, he gave me some advice on inside the house and handled Kingston very well outside considering he was a nightmare. The first session went well. Alex sent over some homework for me to focus on and 3 weeks forward the second session was fantastic! I can now walk Kingston with peace of mind, we have been doing so many fun activities such as hiking and going to the beach and I’ve seen such a massive difference in his behaviour. Inside and outside. I can’t wait for the next sessions going forward. I can’t thank Alex enough for his patience and commitment to work with Kingston he gave us much praise for our hard work and always kept us updated on the next sessions and our homework to improve. Thank you so much for everything Alex I can’t recommend you enough.

- S.B, Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
I am so impressed with how Kingston’s behaviour on walks has improved following the initial session. He was certainly a challenge to walk on lead for anybody, but with some hard work from his owner he now walks beautifully. He is a young dog and can still have the odd excitable moment, but even when he is excited, there is no more jumping up and mouthing!! Looking forward to catching up with them all to start working on some long lead work to teach him recall. Keep up the good work!!

Alex dealt with Barking, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Pulling, Separation Anxiety

My 18 month old cocker spaniel has a great personality but also turns into a maniac when he hears a knock at the door, a noise he doesn't know where it's come from, any movement outside etc. He pulls on the lead and doesn't want to be left alone, I can't even nip into the kitchen without him at my feet. After our visit from Alex today, we have started to correct all this behaviour. I feel confident I've got the tools to carry this forward for a much better relationship with my dog and less of a chance of burst ear drums or someone fearing they'll be savaged if they knock on the door. Today I've seen our dog listen to a knock at the door without barking, waiting back from the door, waiting at a boundary line, left him inside alone for 2 mins without barking (bearing in mind I couldn't even take the bin out before) and had an enjoyable walk with him on the lead. I couldn't recommend Alex enough, although there's still a way to go after the initial lesson I feel like I might actually get some normality back. He's worked a miracle in my eyes today.

- H.B, Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
Always enjoy my sessions and following the initial session, there should always be some quick wins for the customer. Some behaviours often take longer to improve, especially behaviours such separation anxiety. This session went even better than I could have anticipated, especially due to the fact that we were able to leave him home alone for 2 minutes without him making a fuss and he stopped worrying when we practice knocking on the front door. Happy dog, happy customers and a very happy behaviouralist!

Alex dealt with Aggression, Barking, Hyperactivity, Pulling, Recall, Toileting

Our first lesson with Alex was great, Stanley was already much more relaxed when walking outside by the end of the session. Inside exercises were also successful. Looking forward to doing more work with Alex on aggression towards other dogs. Alex sent very useful training material and notes for us to have a look at.

7th April 2024 - Alex Fraser

Alex dealt with Aggression, Jumping up, Pulling

I was really pleased with how the first session with Alex went. I was feeling a bit despairing due to dog reactivity which was making walks really stressful. Alex discussed everything in great detail and went through some basic manners with my dogs as well as giving me a clear idea of what the whole family needed to do to improve things. I now feel much more positive and am looking forward to the next session.

- S.R, Eccles (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
Really enjoyed the session and I’m looking forward to catching up with them all soon. It’s important the whole family work together to get both dogs listening better inside the home, which in turn will help them manage their behaviours out on walks. Following the initial session most owners should get some quick wins, but some behaviours can certainly take longer to improve which is why the follow up sessions are so important.

6th March 2024 - Alex Fraser

Alex dealt with Aggression, Jumping up, Pulling

Alex was amazing. The results I had on the day and since then have been remarkable. It is like I have a different dog. A lot of the problem was down to the way I was treating / reacting to Eric’s behaviour. So happy now, still lots of work and training to be done but I now feel like I can manage it. Thank you Alex

- J.H, Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
As always, I really enjoyed the session, especially meeting Eric. Eric is a lovely dog, even if he was very excited when meeting new people in the home. Although his owner was after help with some of his behaviours on walks, it’s important that we get him listening better in the home, which in turn will help him listen better on walks. I’m so pleased to hear everything is going in the right direction.
