Alex dealt with Separation Anxiety
Alex was brilliant - he really got to know us and Miso and set out a clear plan for us. He was very patient and professional, and he made us all feel really comfortable.

I loved meeting Miso and her parents and I was really impressed with how well she listened to them both, but the problem they were having was leaving her home alone. Separation Anxiety can be a difficult behavioural issue to fix, but with time and patience, it can be resolved. I’ve already had an update to say that things are moving in the right direction. Keep up the good work.

Alex was knowledgeable, realistic and honest in his approach. There was no judgement or question of what had been done or not from a training perspective.
Alex was able to give simple quick ideas and explanations in order to get the best from Brody.
Can't wait to see how he helps get the best from this boy who is clearly cleverer than we thought!

Puppies can be a challenge - even to those that have had dogs all their lives. There is also no quick fix for any young dog, but with the right techniques and body language I am confident we can make all dogs the best version of themselves.

Could not recommend Alex at Bark Busters enough. He was extremely patient with our dog Bozzer who is incredibly hyperactive and anxious with new people in the house. Alex was able to give us training advice immediately understanding what Bozzer needed. We spent a couple of hours together rehearsing new techniques to reduce Bozzer's anxiety during the day so that he is much calmer to deal with other things. Bozzer still needs work - and that is on us to do and keep on top of but we all feel much calmer and more relaxed around each other. We know there is still more work to do to reduce Bozzer's separation anxiety (this is deep rooted in him unfortunately as a rescue dog) but we fully trust that with Alex's support we will get there.

I meet dogs of all different ages and from experience it doesn’t matter how young or old a dog is, all behaviours can be improved once we identify the root cause of unwanted behaviours and if I can train the parents. I was really impressed with how much calmer Bozzer was when I returned to seem them all and was further surprised with how calm he became when we practiced leaving him home alone. I’m looking forward to catching up with them all again so that we can practice some lead work. Keep up then good work!

Alex came round and spent a great 3 hours with our puppy Norman. He took on board our feedback and was able to answer our questions clearly with great advice and tips for us to work on. Brilliant trainer, Norman took to him extremely well. Highly recommended.

I have worked with a lot of puppies over the past 2 years including a lot of first time puppy owners. Getting the basics right is very important. Lots of sleep and full tummies. Norman did really well and I’m going to enjoy supporting them as Norman grows up.

It's been almost 2 weeks since the training and just one visit has made a difference. There's no more lead pulling, Lennie is more calm with continued training and noticed he is less aggressive towards strangers. Alex has been amazing and given some really good advice. I would recommend Bark Busters.

With a Baby on the way we sort Alex out to help with our over excited one and a half year old Beagle Spaniel Cross (Lockdown Puppy). Archie was a little wary of him at first but quickly took to Alex no problem. We were taken through a number of training drills to help with Archies 'Door manners' and shown how to effectively correct bad behaviour without having to raise our voice. We thought Archie was a major Lead puller but it turns out with a longer lead and a little bit of technique he barely pulls at all. I've watched countless YouTube videos on how to stop pulling but they don't explain why they are doing what they do, this is where having a 1 to 1 session really helps as Alex is able to explain why what he is doing actually works, then if you know why it works its easier for you to tell if you are doing it wrong when the teacher isn't there. Alex also highlighted a number of general changes to our behaviour to become better passive leaders to Archie. Again stuff that you just wouldn't think to do or stuff that I haven't seen come up in dog training TV shows or YouTube videos. We've had just the one session but have seen big improvements already, Thank you Alex

We contacted Bark Busters to get some help with our very barky Beagle and her attention seeking, and also needed some pointers on loose-lead walking. Alex was great in taking the time to understand where we were at and what was the main triggers, before giving us some useful and practical training tools to deploy immediately. The simple explanations and targeted approach has had a huge impact after only a short period of time and we're grateful Alex at the end of the phone for advice and follow-up sessions!

Really enjoyed this session, although I admit that I do enjoy pretty much all of my sessions as I love what I do and I love that fact that dogs listen better and worry less. This session was no exception!
We do tend to get good results sooner rather than later, but follow up support is often required to ensure the owners stay on track. I look forward to catching up with them all in the not too distant future

Alex was excellent. Extremely knowledgable snd gave us some great tips so that Barney and Bruno can co exist together. He explained what the problem was and left us with things to practice. I am very happy with Alex and would recommend his services to anyone, very relaxed with the dogs and made us all feel relaxed too.

Both dogs did really well during the first session. It’s always interesting when working with multiple dogs as its not always the dog that the owner thinks is the problem. The route cause is often the dog that they think has less issues. Once we ascertain why dogs are behaving the way they are, we can use simple techniques to start to import and resolve the issues.

What a wonderful experience! Having purchased both Eric and Ernie during lockdown we were all too aware of the lack of socialisation skills and etiquette the puppies have had the opportunity to experience, and had witnessed first hand the distress of separation anxiety having been with them 24 - 7 then returning to work. After our first session with Alex we were absolutely delighted with the results. Alex was informative, and very intuitive to both puppy’s current skills levels and capacity to learn (our pups are 11 months and 3 months old, and different breeds) Alex is so knowledgeable and inspires confidence. I’m delighted to say we’re proud and astounded by the progress made in our first session and are excited for the next! Thank you Alex!
