We are first time dog owners and got a cockerpoo puppy during lockdown. I was concerned that we should be using the time to train our puppy but no one seemed to be available. I contacted Alex and he fitted us in as soon as possible. He was very reassuring and had a wealth of knowledge both personal and professional. He talked with us and demonstrated a number of techniques. He also talked through more general issues such as diet and leads. After the lesson we received a number of documents covering different areas that were very useful. It can be difficult to absorb all the information in the session so having the follow up documents was very useful. We are all trying to follow the advice given.

I love working with puppies but it has to be noted that there is no quick fix for teaching a puppy what they can and can’t do. Time, patience, consistency and the correct techniques will get the desired results in the long run. I’m looking forward to catching up with them all soon.

We have had Taco (12 weeks old) for 4 weeks, I love dogs but my husband is scared of them. We have had a few hard weeks with him as we are just getting used to having a puppy and we have found it hard finding how to apply the correct training methods, acceptable actions and behaviours that we should be doing around him. Today was our first lesson with Alex, he was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He taught us how to train Taco, how to calm him down and have gave my husband a lot more confidence when he is around Taco. After Alex left Taco has been so much better behaved, a lot more obedient and calm. I cant recommend Alex enough, he is GREAT!!

Over the past 5 weeks I have possibly worked with more puppies than saw in the 6 months before lockdown!! I’ve helped both experienced dog owners and first time puppy owners. Puppies can be really hard work and there is no quick fix, but with ongoing support we can train any puppy. Today’s session went really well and I’m delighted that the owners have already seen a difference. I can’t wait to catch up with Taco in a few weeks to see how he and his parents are getting on.

We completed our first training lesson with Alex. Alex was really good. He did say it would take some time and patience. If we worked at it each day Arlo would start to be more calm and would eventually be able to cope at being left on his own and people coming in the house. He showed us some exercises he wanted us to do and left us with a training instruction sheet to follow. He explained to us the reason why we were doing these particular exercises. We actually felt at the end of the lesson more confident and not on our own. We love the fact that Alex would be in touch with us on A regular basis and with us every step of the way. We would recommend Alex to anyone who is having issues with their dog.

We really enjoyed Hugo's first training session with Alex. Just a few simple tips have made a huge difference in Hugo's behaviour already! They are things we would never have thought of (e.g. a different correction sound) Also, we didn't realise Hugo may not be getting quite enough sleep, so have now started a sleep diary. We've been left with clear actions and things to work on. So far so good; we're really looking forward to our next visit!

Alex is very professional in his delivery in all aspects of this excellent service. He has given me the tools and the confidence with my first puppy to be in total control of my dog. I’ve had a few sessions Buster and his owner and he really is a great young dog who is eager to please. Some puppies can be a real challenge, but Buster has been a dream to work with and is now doing really well both in the home and out on walks.

Alex was a friendly guy who made himself known to Murphy without any issues, he was straight into the training as Murphy has a habit of jumping up and grabbing hands wanting to play. He wanted to see how Murphy interacted with us and was surprised how mouthy he was but then was amazed how quick he learned the techniques. He addressed the issues we were having and helped with the techniques we needed which were very straight forward, we noticed an instant change in Murphy, he has gone from a boisterous grabby, jumpy dog to a more friendly softer dog who now understands downtime.

Murphy is a great German Shepherd, but he was a bit of a bully to his human Mum and sometimes human Dad. He ruled the roost. German Shepherds are super intelligent and once we got Murphy listening he exceeded my expectations with how well he did. I’ve been in touch with his parents following the session and his bullying behaviour has stopped. I’m so pleased!

I found Alex (Bark Busters) through the internet. I put feelers out to several people but Alex was the first one back to me. We had an indepth convo at the telephone where Alex quickly assessed that Chester had taken over as the alpha male in our home; so we made an appointment for a visit here at home. Alex was timely. We spent a pleasant amusing three hours training ME (and Chester) on who was the real alpha. We all three got on splendidly and progress is being made albeit slowly. The random barking is abating and Chester's 'me first' mindset has seen a sea change thanks to Alex's friendly informative training. Its worth mentioning that I didn't feel judged for my lack of dog skills (Chester being our first dog) or patronised. I would highly recommend Alex as a behaviourist in your home should you struggle with hierarchy problems.

Alex was a pleasure to have with us for our first training session with our dog, Buddy. Alex calmly explained the help he thought Buddy needed and also explained that it was myself who needed a little training too. Buddy followed all the advice and training techniques demonstrated by Alex and responded well when we tried them. Buddy is so much calmer and within a few days started showing significant improvement. There are still things I myself need to implement more on a daily basis as it is unfair to Buddy not to maintain such good training advice and technique.

Alex is fantastic my Dogs are very chatty when anyone knocks on the door and from just having our first training session they have shown a great improvement. I have learnt to be more of a leader with them rather than a soft mum. Telling Alex all the issues I have with them, he showed me how to deal with them and my dogs reacted to his command straight away almost making me out to be a liar like butter wouldn't melt in their mouths......Jasper and Millie have picked up very quickly how to behave and I just need to implement this every day with them training myself more to be in control rather than them. I'm looking forward to our next training lesson and hoping to show Alex well behaved dogs. I highly recommend Bark Busters, they are so helpful and always there to give advice anytime.

Alex taught us simple techniques to reorient the relationship between us and our 2-year old dog. The exercises Alex showed us could be done quickly and are easy to assimilate into our busy lives. He was patient teaching us how to handle our dog and our dog responded well very quickly. The key will now be employing what Alex taught us consistently, but Alex provided us with a great foundation.
